There is a Heart Shaped Memorial on the beach in Belmar, New Jersey.
Created in true Jersey style, shells painted yellow, placed on the beach in the shape of hearts...
filled with hundreds of rocks,
each rock bearing the name of a loved one, who lost their battle with Covid.
It was initially created to honor people from the Shore area,
but has grown to represent any person who would like to add the name of a loved one.
Rima Samman created the memorial as a tribute to her brother.
It started as a single heart and has grown to nine.
We stood in silence and read the names, so many, too many...
this is such a beautiful memorial...

That is sad and sweet at the same time. A really nice memorial.
This is a beautiful memorial! All the rocks made me feel extra sad. The losses with Covid have been so big. Praying so hard that it goes away. I'm happy at least there is a vaccine. We got our 2nd one this week; and I was so happy to finally have both of them. Stay safe and happy! You posts bring me joy.
