Good Fences ~ Edition 49 ~

On Sunday, the hubs took me to "my" farm,
Yes, I now consider it "my" farm because I feel I have spent enough money
on yarn to own a small piece of it.
  *  smile  *
Don't tell Don or the girls, they may not agree!

I had a knitting class on Sunday,
so for this visit, I spent most of my time in the coop,
learning how to make fingerless gloves.
More on that in an upcoming post.

When class was over and I went outside,
the sun was shining bright and it was 45 degrees.

I wandered around the farm and not one Alpaca was outside.
But the land and fences were so beautiful,
I was not disappointed when I put my eye to my lens.

This is one, of the two new barns on the farm,

this is the other one, they are really beautiful.

The Alpaca were home, I was surprised they did not come out.
They are usually curious when they hear a car,
or sense someone walking around outside.

 Here's a closer look,
don't you just love that the wreath is still hanging there.

This is one of the older barns,
there are so many lovely, useful fences.
If you look closely you can see two Alpaca,
both laying down, both resting!!

Weekend Adventures!!

Last weekend was a most amazing weekend for me.
I had fun things scheduled for both day's
and everything went according to my plan.
Score!!

On Saturday, the hubs and I went to Laurita Winery
for their first ever...

 Ice Sculpture Festival!!

 Olaf was there...

and this fabulous display for the kids,
Dress A Snowman...accessories provided!!

There was a Fire Breathing Dragon!!
He only exhaled fire once every 15 minutes and I kept missing it.
Well actually, I saw it, I just did not get a picture!!

The hubs and I in front of the igloo,

and here's a shot of me inside the igloo...it was cold but I was so happy!!

There were lots of fire pits, to sit around to stay warm.

This was an ice carving display.
This beautiful swan was carved with a chainsaw, right before our very eyes.

And I just loved this firetruck...

which you know I made the hubs sit on!!

It was snowing for our entire visit and I thought that was awesome.
It was the perfect weather for this winter event

The view for the ride home...
we took it slow and enjoyed the winter scenery!

Darby Smart...Internet Rehab

I "needed" another hobby...

I found Darby Smart on Facebook...
an organization that sends you a craft kit, once each month.
Everything you need, to complete a different, fun craft
comes in this cute box, every thirty days.

My first kit included everything you need to make a set of
Block Printed Tea Towels

The kit included this linoleum block, you decide on the design.

I finally went with a knife, fork and spoon and drew the design
on the linoleum block.

Then the carving begins...not an easy task.

This was tedious but I took my time and I was happy with
the finished product. The hubs helped as well!!

Next came the scary part...the ink.
This sat on my kitchen counter for several days a week.
I knew once this part was done, it was done...
if I did not like it, I could not fix it.
I am working on myself, trying to rid myself of perfection fear.

Yesterday was the big day, I needed wanted this post for today,
so I had to ink those babies!!

The towels had to be ironed first...
crap, I hate to iron.
I don't even know why I have one, but good thing I do.

It went very well and I am very happy with the results.

Two, perfectly beautiful Tea Towels

Totally unnecessary but pretty to look at!!

So what have my blogging friends been creating lately??

My Visitor from Carolina!!

I don't know if he really came from Carolina...

I love their color and that cute little popping tail.

He looks a little grumpy here...the feeders were empty.

I think he's praying I will come out and fill them!!
And you know I did!!

Who's Karen?!?!

There is a girl out there named Karen, she is blog-less
but reads my blog everyday.
Once in a while, she leaves me a comment.
Here's a peek at the most recent comment she left on my Lazy Susan Post.

"Great idea thanks for sharing.
Love reading your blog every morning before work."

I want her to know how much I appreciate her visits and support.
I want all of you to know how much I appreciate
your comments, love and support.
I have such an awesome group of followers and friends.
My sister reads also, everyday before work,
she always tells me it's "how she starts her day"!!
The hubs reads too, which is really awesome, the only disadvantage,
"no fluffing things up".
No embellishments, no fib telling...this blog is the real deal!!

The hubs helped me take this picture,

so I could help share the love.
You guys are the best!!

Saturday Critters ~ 62 ~

On February 12th, the Robins arrived.
There were about 100 Robins in the back yard.
This one was out front, and seemed very intent on getting in the house,
and watched me knit for the better part of the day!!

I watched the sunset from the front window as well...

another inside day, that did not disappoint.
Isn't it gorgeous!!

So how about you guys, have you been watching these
glorious sunsets??
