The Hooded Merganser!!

While we were out and about on Saturday,
when I was stalling the hubs because I did not want to go home...
I spotted these, Hooded Merganser.
It was my first sighting, EVER, and man they are beautiful!

These images are not awesome but this was more about the experience.
I am going to go back and try to get better pictures.
They were extremely skittish,
and they kept flying off.
Good thing for the hubs, he follows chase instructions well!!

Some of us men do learn to do as we're told!

I've only seen these a couple of times on the Delaware River. My husband seems pretty excited each time he spots them.

How sweet a view this is, I can see why you'd want to linger about here! Your hubs and you find the best places to share, and soon, spring will be arriving around the corner and you can enjoy a picnic lunch while capturing moments in nature! Life is so good.

Quite beautiful - and what a lovely sight... perfect for your stalling tactics - lol!!
Their name sounds like a documentary programme :D) For active birds you've gotten some great shots and they're easily addictable (if that's a word). Well spotted :D)

I've seen these at "my" pond this year - and haven't been able to get great pics, but love them. Also - didn't know what they were so thanks!

Aren't they the cutest things? I have never seen a "real" one, only pictures.

I think the photos are great! What unusual birds--I've never heard of them, and I don't think I've seen them. Very striking!

Those are very beautiful birds, from the colors to the different shapes to the eyes that seem to glow. A picture of an experience is usually better than just a good photo. They capture the moment so much better.

Oh they are a wonderful looking duck. I will check our local park aviary as we have many exotic ducks there to see if we have one.

Oh my! They are so beautiful and perfect looking, they don't look real. I am SO glad you got these pics, and convinced Chuck you weren't ready to go home. :)
