Simple Ways to Add More Joy & Happiness To Your Life

First and foremost, "bee" grateful for everything.
Savor simple pleasures.
Surround yourself with the people who make you happy.
Do more of the things you enjoy doing.
Happiness comes from achieving something, focus on that.
Read, travel, exercise, do something creative.
Recall positive memories.
Listen to upbeat music.

Pay a stranger a compliment.
Give to others.
Be kind.
Be Content.
Be useful.
Spend time in nature.
Spend time alone.
Keep fresh flowers or live plants in your home.
Smile at yourself in the mirror!

One per day, every day...now that's joy!

New Murals Around Town

Point Pleasant has some new murals in town...

- I adore murals -

These decorative lighthouses are along the pier
where the fishing boats are docked in Point Pleasant Beach.

- there are two ways of spreading light, to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it -

More From New Zealand

I got the sweetest note from my niece Emily this morning.
The one with the adventurous spirit who lives in New Zealand.
The one who said long ago New Jersey is nice,
but I want to be surrounded with towering mountains and untamed scenic landscapes...
golden beaches and colors that paint the sky.
An island country where streams and quiet bays are everywhere...

- here is what she was talking about -

- even when someone is far away -
- we are under the same sky, looking at the same sun, moon & stars -

Ardena School & A Little Bit Of History

Ardena School No. 2 built in 1855

The hubs remembers seeing it moved here to this spot in 1971 as he went by on the school bus.
He grew up here in Howell Township were the school is now located.

Grand Trunk Western
The Caboose from the 1888 train has been restored beautifully.

I found these pictures on line,
and have made it my mission to find this area and train that have been restored with so much care.

- history is not a burden on the memory, but an illumination of the soul -

Saturday's Critters #432

A spin around Lake of the Lilies never disappoints me.
The air has been crisp and cool on some days and warm and sunny on others.

There are always a lot of Mallards...they are here year round.
Can you handle those cute little tail curls?

The Greater Scaup
This is a bulky, robust diving duck, present here only during the winter.

The Red Winged Black Birds have returned, they do not spend winters here.

I see a lot of Killdeer during my visits and have hundreds of pictures of them.

The Killdeer is boldly marked, long legged and noisy.
This Plover has long wings and a long tail, when standing, it has a more elongated appearance.
Sexes are similar.

I love the way the feathers look in this picture.

The Mute Swans are slowly returning.

My bird book says that these swans are here year round but I don't see them in the winter.

- for one minute, walk outside, stand there, in silence,
look up at the sky and contemplate how amazing life is -
