Saturday Critters ~ 26 ~

Our resident Great Blue Heron is back at Godfrey Lake.

April 26th was the first time I saw him this year,

of course, I have been stalking him...

I saw him again on May 20th...
I took 52 pictures that all look just like this...

I think he's over it...

already bored with my antics!!

I am super excited to be joining in with Eileen over at
for Saturday Critters.
Stop by and consider joining in, any critter will do!

The Smithville Bakery

On April 5, of this year we caught a gorgeous day and headed down to
I posted all the wonderful details about that trip here.

What I never got a chance to share were pictures of

 The cutest little historic bakery,
displaying some of the most amazing antiques I have ever seen.
Serving up an awesome breakfast, home baked breads,
cookies, cupcakes and all things wonderful.

If you visit Smithville, don't miss the Smithville Bakery!

Good Fences ~ Edition 10 ~

Sometimes the hubs and I just go for a ride in the car.
As we leave our home, turning left takes us straight to the beach.
If you turn right, the roads lead to our beautiful rural area.
Farms, fences, farm animals and country views.

On May 20th, we turned right.

I found this pretty fence and gate, on an old, abandon piece of property!
It was love at first sight and just perfect for today.

I am super excited to be sharing these pretty country fences with
for Good Fences.
Stop by and consider joining in the fun, any fence or gate will do!!
And trust me, there are a lot of pretty fences out there
that need to be photographed and shared!!

Stealing the Spotlight!!

Do you remember our day trip to Longwood Gardens back on
May 6th?
Occasionally...o.k., all the time, I talk to strangers.
I don't know what it is about me but seriously
everyone talks to me.
Now, I am drawn to people...
occasionally I start it up but the hubs says I have a sign on my forehead,
that reads...
"I will talk to anyone and I would love to talk to you"!!

The hubs is not in to all the chatter, he usually wanders off,
but I recently discovered what he's doing while I'm off
"shooting the bull"!!

 He's shooting himself...
He had set up the tripod, for a picture of us together.
No point in wasting this opportunity,
"let's do a photo shoot of "me" while everyone is watching"

That's some look he is getting from missy with the cap!!

Then he decides to spice things up just a little...
with this very stoic pose,

and ended his photo shoot with the traditional peace sign.

I had no idea he did this until I came home and loaded the pictures on to
my computer.
I have no words, I thought at some point he would grow up!

Time For a Haircut!!

My Alpaca friends got their haircut...
talk about birthday suits,
they must be thinkin' "what the heck just happened"!!

There is a wonderful life lesson to be learned here...
and may I just add that it is one of my favorites,
"Never judge a book by it's cover"
Their gentle love and sweetness comes from within,
that didn't get sheared!

These images were taken on Saturday May 24th,
before, during and after my knitting class.

Let's Knit, Part 2!!

Yesterday, I went back to Arrow Acres Farm
for my second knitting class.
The same beautiful table was set, sitting outside waiting for me.
The same wonderful, fun loving, knitting empowered people
were there as well.
This is the perfect setting for knitting lessons,

although the "view" can be a little distracting!!

I brought my practice piece, I have been practicing a lot
and I did make a few mistakes.
Did you think this beauty just landed on the table like this?
ummmm, no, it was strategically placed, masking all my little oopsies!

Here's what it really looks like...
I practiced knitting and pearling on this,
that's why some rows look different then others.
I also forgot which way I was going at one point...
that's the "what the heck is going on here" mess about one quarter
of the way down...oops!!

I also learned how to get that baby off the needles...
that was easy peasy!!

Next up was felted soap,
I have never heard of this and it's so fun to make.
If felted soap interests you,
I found a great video on youtube you can view that here.
Each of us felted 2 bars of soap and we were sent home with lots more fiber,
so we could make a few bars at home.

Next up, I learned to "cast on", which means to start a new project.
That, my friends was my biggest nemesis.
Leanne is so very patient and with her help, I got it done!

I am no longer considered a "beginner" so I am going to take the next class,
and make the 400 Yard Scarf, pictured here!!

Here are a few images of the awesome Alpaca that call
