Wild About Water

There is no bird "funner" to watch in the bird bath than a Robin, they take the best baths.
Scrubbing every part, they really are hysterical!
Of all my backyard birds, they use the bird bath most often and have the best time ever!
If you have never seen a Robin bathing, you will enjoy these pictures.

He hangs out here to dry...

Arrow Acres Alpaca Farm

one of my favorite places to visit...
where friends gatheryarn is for sale, knitting is welcome, and cute Alpaca wander freely!

On Saturday, I went to visit the farm...the Alpaca recently got their haircut and
I wanted to see and photograph them before the farm closes for summer.

I love them...but what I love more is the feeling I have when I am on this farm.
Every member of the family greets you with a huge smile,
they are genuinely happy to see you.
Us girls talk about girl stuff, yarn and knitting...Dad Don takes everyone who visits for a tour.
He tells them all about the Alpaca and offers you carrots so you can feed them.
Mom Dee, so kind and sweet, shows everyone how to "spin yarn".

It was such a beautiful day!
If you are ever in Wall Township, New Jersey stop by the farm.
They are closed now for the summer
but will reopen the end of September and are open every weekend until Christmas.

Saturday Critters #493

In May of 2021, I first became aware of a family of Fox living under the boardwalk in
Ocean Grove.

We took several trips to see them before they came out of the den
and up in sight, while I was there, and able to get pictures.
I was thrilled to photograph this Red Fox Family and I shared those pictures from May 2021 here.

Now, it has happened again.
They have taken up residence in the same den at the North End Pavilion
which was destroyed by a fire back in 2019.
As you can imagine, this family of Red Fox ~ Mom, Pop and 5 Pups ~ are getting a lot of attention.
The beach may seem like an odd spot to see a Fox Family,
yet it is in fact very common as Fox are indigenous to the beach area.
It is believed they will stay in this den for 6 - 8 weeks and then move on!

We saw 3 of the 5 pups, mom and dad did not make an appearance.

The town has installed a fence around a large area where they are,
to keep people from getting too close, and to keep the Fox safe.

Harry Heron & The Reservoir

We have been trying to get out in the evening, to enjoy the cool, crisp air we have been having...
I know that it will not last forever.
We love the reservoir walking path in town.
It is only 5 minutes from home, it's 1.7 miles long, paved and pristinely maintained.
The hubs walks, I use my zinger chair.

I have shared many pictures of it before herehere, and here.

We met up with Harry the Heron,
he comes every year and you can always find him in this same spot!

I was so happy we choose to get out!

The Great Outdoors...

The end of spring is almost here, can you believe it?
Soon we will be in full summer mode and the pool will be open.
I have so many things to share with you, but I have been so busy
- tending to things -

I have been planting wildflowers in the gardens and
and VegTrug instead of vegetables like in previous years.
The vegetables have not been producing enough
and really block our view of the river.
I hope to get wildflowers I can cut and bring
into the house to brighten things up.

We planted 2 Milkweed Plants hoping to attract the Monarchs...

and lots of Dill to attract and feed my Black Swallowtails.

The hubs planted Vincas around the mailbox...

and around my favorite birdhouse.
Punch and Pure White
always look so pretty together.

My new house flag...

I stopped at a neighbors house to photograph this
Peony
I don't have any Peonies but I think I may have to get some.

Sunrise Gazebo
We finished working late last night and instead of
climbing on to the couch,
we decided to go for a walk at the reservoir, we needed fresh air.
Both of the pretty gazebos had lights on them.

We ran into
Harry the Heron
He's back from last year in the exact same spot.
I took a lot of pictures I will share on another day!
