Point Pleasant Boardwalk

has a beautiful fireworks display, every Thursday night, all summer long.
We go several times each summer, these pictures are from a few weeks ago.

We have our own special spot where we sit and watch them.
As we get deeper into the summer, the boardwalk gets a lot more crowded...
our special spot will be discovered and will probably be taken over!

The fireworks were so pretty...
I heard someone say if you have seen one firework, you have seen them all.
I say that is not true.

After the fireworks, we walked over by the rides.
School was still in session on the Thursday night we went,
therefore, the kids had gone home early and the rides were pretty empty after the fireworks.
Still I enjoyed looking at the lights, colors, hearing the music, and the rides all lit up.
There were pint sized rides for the kiddos, family rides and thrill rides.

It was a lovely evening, cool and breezy...the perfect time to visit the Boardwalk.

Pollinator Point

It was too hot and humid to do anything outside.
The pool water is still green, that is another whole story...so we went for a drive,
to blow the stink off as they say.
I find whenever we go for a drive I find something worth photographing.
And on this day, I really did.

It was a turn the car around moment...

All I saw was this sign, but that was enough.
It looked like a teeny tiny garden but still I wanted to see it, you never know.
I was right, you don't ever know.
It is a sliver of land that people probably pass by everyday and do not notice.
But for me, it was so special, and I'm very happy we stopped so I could appreciate this special garden

Such a thoughtful, sweet spot...a garden with a purpose!

Saturday Critters #655

On a recent visit to Lake of the Lilies...

there were 2 new "aerators " in the lake.
These aerators will mix air with the water and help to improve its health and function.

I found a single Killdeer roaming around,
it was not thrilled with my presence but did not fly off.

I chased it,"well kinda' chased it" all around the lake.

It grew more and more irritated with me...

until it gave me the image of the day...I was so surprised.

There were several baby bunnies...

trying to hide in and eat the weeds.

The World Cup

 - are you watching -
I had to watch the first USA game recorded as it was not available for me to watch live where I was.
It was an exciting game, even though I knew that they had won 3 - 0 against Paraguay.

Last Friday as I typed this entry I was watching their second game.

They won 2 - 0 against Australia and are guaranteed a spot in the second round

They tied Turkiye 1 - 1 and with that win, they won their Group D.
They play again on July 1st.
Both of my boys played soccer, youngest son Mike played at a pretty high level,
and really enjoys watching the games to this day.

We celebrated with a trip to Rita's, our first of the season.
Juicy Pear is my favorite but they did not have it and the hubs and I both got Watermelon,
which is also very good.

I just get a kids cup of Ice, the hubs gets a Gelati.
A mix of creamy, rich frozen custard, and refreshing, fruit-flavored ice.

Delicious!
