Two Sticks And Some String

My two little hands have been busy with my knitting needles and yarn,
Christmas gifts and one hat to finish.

I have been making these cute ear warmer/headbands,
knitted with 3 ply DK, Alpaca Yarn
These two are for the girls next door who visited me so much earlier this year.
I made their brother a hat.

They are so easy to make...
these knitted strips, sewn together and twisted just the right way,
and this little strip becomes the perfect headband to keep your ears warm on a cold day.

This one is knitted using 100% Pure Baby Alpaca Yarn,
it will be a little bigger for the girl who loves purple,
- me -

- I knit, but my favorite hobby is collecting yarn -

I wish I could knit! I actually CAN but I'm not very good and I don't really enjoy it....but I WANT to!!
I KNEW the purple would be for YOU! Do you ever knit socks? For your bare feet???

i remember when i took my lessons, i was not sure i would be able to learn how to knit. my knitting teacher, leanne, was so patient, so kind, she is the reason i stuck with it. she always encourages me and if i am to be truthful, i stuck with it so i could spend time with her and the alpaca. i have made the best friends in my knitting group, most of them are younger than me. i learned to crochet in the exact same way. leannes sister liz taught me to crochet and she too is kind and patient...and another "in" at the farm. i tried to knit socks, i gave up because i did not enjoy knitting them. they are tiny, knitted with 4 double pointed needles and my hands struggled with it!!

my feet are never bare, they are always wrapped in heat...i don't need socks but i would enjoy knitting them for others if it were enjoyable!!

Does it ever make you wonder how the first person thought to use two sticks and some string to make something :)
These headbands are so cute, love the little twist. You will have to model yours after you finish it!

Debbie, you make me want to start knitting again. The yarns are like the fabrics... so beautiful and fun to work with.
