Saturday's Critters # 403

Not far from home at Camp Zender we almost always see deer.
They are fairly friendly, but far off in the distance, they hug the woods line,
so these images are heavily cropped.
I always enjoy seeing them and see them often as we are headed home.

My neighbor across the street has a Ring Doorbell and has captured images of deer on it.
That surprised me, as I live in a neighborhood.

I have been seeing a lot of Eastern Tiger Swallowtails at my Butterfly Bushes...

the monarchs are gone...

and I have been releasing the last few of my Black Swallowtails.

~ my definition of beautiful is nature ~

Sharing today's images with Eileen at

I love to see deer even though they are garden pests to some people. It's the bunnies that eat my plants, not deer.

The deer are very beautiful. Few of them live In the woods around my city but I have never seen one of them. And I hope that also the hunters don't see them!

Great photos and deer. I love these animals. Unfortunately, they are often killed by poachers.
Have a nice weekend:)

So cute with the deer!! When we lived in Billings, Montana we saw a lot of deer in neighborhoods. I always worried I would hit one while driving; thankfully never did!

The Eastern Tiger Swallowtails are so beautiful!

Have a great weekend :)

Such sweet animals and beautiful photos! They have such expressive faces. We used to see deer at night and in the early morning in our neighborhood for several years, but none these last few. I am tempted to put my trail cam on a tree in our back yard (we have no fences), just to see what it captures. It’s time to get it out again :) Loved the butterflies. I see more of these than I do the Monarch. I did see one yesterday at one of our gardens. I was thrilled but it didn’t hang around for a photo :( Great photos Debbie, they always bring a smile :)

Hello again Debbie,
Breathtaking beauty in your colourful butterfly photos, and I'm delighted you managed to capture these deer photos from afar. They are all lovely shots.

You sure get a lot of butterflies with your butterfly bushes, Debbie.

I cannot imagine having deer in the neighbourhood!

When we first moved in here I saw deer outside our fence but haven't seen them since. On our trip last Thursday we saw so many deer in the park we went too but Greg had the wrong lens on his camera to get good pics and of course mine was always in the back so I would just drive slowly and watch them :) The eastern swallowtail is cool, I haven't seen those I don't think

Beautiful photos of the deer! They are quite good at adapting to urban sprawl. We still have butterflies and lots of hummingbirds.
