Food For Thought

Cooking foods you love to eat is helpful when staying home.
Making tried and true recipes and then trying new things helps.
Let's see what I have been up to...nothing crazy, I can assure you of that!

I made a really good Pasta Salad.
It was super simple, only a few ingredients but it tasted so good.
I did not use a recipe, this was an easy one to just wing it.

A few big dollops of pesto...

tomatoes from the garden...

and fresh mozzarella balls.
Next time I make this, I am going to add some sliced red onion.
You could add almost anything, but I liked these three simple ingredients.
Having jarred pesto made it super simple and the Rao's Pesto was delicious.

We get these Kabobs at Delicious Orchid they are already marinated and they are awesome.
The hubs grills them on the barbecue,
and also cooks the potatoes in foil packets with butter, onion, and salt, nothing else.
They are equally awesome.

A steak from my Home Chef meal subscription,
with fingerling potatoes halved and cooked in the oven.

Four cheese ziti...
If you eat at Olive Garden, which we did after buying the car...
you can take home a meal for five dollars.
This is it, it was delicious!

Creamy Sun-Dried Tomato and Sausage Cavatappi, this is a Home Chef meal and it is another winner.

Another steak meal from Home Chef.
We get one large steak and split it which is more than enough,
this came with mashed sweet potatoes and asparagus.

I have been eating a lot of Avocado Toast for breakfast.
Sprinkled with "Everything But The Bagel" seasoning from Trader Joes.

The hubs has a sweet tooth, me, not as much, so I rarely eat desert.
These cupcakes are so good...
We get them at "Confections of a Rock Star" in Asbury Park,
I wrote another post about the bake shop here.
All of the cupcakes have rockstar names, this one is called "Raspberry Park".

I won't be growing carrots next year...
it was fun to pick them but definitely not worth the water and time we gave them.

We’ve done kabobs lately, so easy, especially with tomatoes and peppers from the garden. Pasta salad is a great idea.I don’t make that but will have it now you’ve reminded me about it. Thank you, Debbie.

This was not a good post to read right now. I'm getting hungry and need to heat supper. I might add what I have ready won't look as good as yours.

I agree that all your meals look delicious! I especially like the pasta with tomatoes, basil, and Mozzarella cheese. And I would add purple onion too... just because I like it. Did you serve it as a cold or hot salad? (I imagine cold) I also love avocado... on bread, in a salad, in a sandwich,... or just by itself.

Looks like you are enjoying some great meals. We tried growing carrots one year and wasn't as impressed with them, I think they do better out in a garden then they do in the containers.

It does look like a lot of yummy meals. You do present them all well. The steaks look good and I do like a good steak once in a while.
I love Avocado toast and I haven't had any for a while; that's on my list for tomorrow. I have a sweet tooth like your hub, so that Cupcake looks delicious.
Sending hugs your way!
