Green-Winged Teal Duck

I have never before seen a Green-Winged Teal Duck...
And as promised on Saturday, I have many more pictures to share.
But here's a little of the back story...
I forgot to mention that I did not see this duck at Lake of the Lilies,
but rather at
Fletcher Lake, a lake I have never visited before.
We were out driving around,
looking for a den of fox, when I spotted and pulled over to photograph a group of,

Muscovy Ducks

During my visit with the Muscovy Ducks, I about wet my pants when I spotted the...

Green-Winged Teal Duck

There was only one, and he was a beauty!!

The colors and markings were spectacular!

If you look closely at this not the best picture,
toward the tail, mid way down, you can see just a splash of teal.
Gorgeous right?
This is the only picture I saw it in.
I think it is more visible when they are in flight!

This duck was just the cutest, on the smaller side, not skittish at all,
and happy to join us up on land...it may have been the cracked corn.

The hubs was feeding everyone our stash of corn that we keep in the car.
Then we noticed we were standing right next to a sign that read,
"Do not feed the Wildlife"
Whoops, I'm sure we looked like 2 idiots that can't read!

oooooh and just in case you were wondering, I found the fox den on Saturday and got some great pictures.
I will share those this Saturday, for my Critter post!!

It doesn't matter whats been written in your story so far,
it's how you fill up the rest of the pages that counts!

Have an awesome day!

very cool that you found another lake to visit and found some cool ducks, so great you were able to get so many pictures. He does have some great markings. We saw a duck yesterday that we have never seen before, don't know if Greg got a good pic before it ran off.

Beautiful duck for sure! I've never seen one. It's nice he didn't hang way out in the middle of the lake. Glad you found the foxes, too!
