Snow Days

 Well, kind of...
It snowed on Sunday,
later in the day and I thought there would be plenty of time to
frolic and take pictures on Monday.
But it rained Monday,
an icy sleety type of rain, that washed away some of the snow.

It's Tuesday as I type and it is snowing again.
- do you see the squirrel running about in the snow -

I made this Beef Bourguignon yesterday, it was delicious but a lot of work for me.
My friend Liz had made it, and she encouraged me to make it,
she thought it was easy.
Her text to me was so funny...
"I just browned the bacon, browned the meat, sautéed the veggies real quick.
Threw the meat back in, flour, wine, broth, paste, onions, got it hot, and threw it in the oven".
She's 30, I'm 62...I viewed it differently and that's why I love her.
It was a Julia Child recipe, need I say more.
It was outrageous, the depth of the flavors was really good!

The hubs made us Hot Chocolate,
I was unable to move off the couch...
I was using toothpicks to keep my eyes open.

We have been playing some games.
Bananagrames and Racko.
Racko, we win equally, but the hubs cannot beat me in Bananagrames.

I received this beautiful card from my blogging friend
her hand made cards are gorgeous and her hand written notes always warm my heart.

We’re having the snow now, turning to ice pellets, freezing rain and rain by tonight. Yuck. Winter misery. The beef dish looks delicious and worth the work.

Wooow, the sight of ice cream makes me drool! The beef dish looks delicious. I also have uninteresting weather. It's snowing, the rain is gray and there's no sun.
Hugs and greetings.

oooooh, i miss you too!!! for me, it was not quite as easy as Lizzie described. she left a few steps out and you know me, i followed the recipe exactly!! it's great to make on a snow day, perhaps you will view it as easy too....

i made mashed potatoes with it and you have watched me make those. so add on one half hour!!

Hello Debbie,:=) Oh the beef burguignon does look delicious, time consuming , but worth it. You have a lovely hubby!:=) and it was a lovely gesture of your friend to send you such a nice card,...the gifts that are made by a friend are the best.

Debby, have you been ill? I hope not, I just wondered because of the card.

You got snow; I'm so jealous. I wanted to make a snow angel this year. They predict snow here and we never get it or it just a touch. The meal looks yummy! It would be too much for me to make; you are alot younger than me.
The hot chocolate looks yummy! Maybe see if my hubby will make some tonight.
Blessings and hugs!

It was a beautiful day in your world! I met a lady at Aldi close to Christmas and she was making that dish for their Christmas Day Dinner. I can't even pronounce it much less spell it! I admire you for making it! Maybe someday I will.....

Debbie - oh my goodness, I have not heard of Rack-o in years! We used to play it all the time when I was a little kid. I wonder whatever happened to it?! Another vintage game that I will have to look for. Julia Child recipe -- say no more! I hope you can enjoy the snow and it's not an inconvenience to you - we sure could use more out our way!

Bummer you got the rain on top of the snow but it looks like it didn't melt it all like our rain did. I think that little squirrel was checking to see if there was any goodies on your deck :)
I had to laugh about the recipe, I take a little more time than others do when they say they put things together, but nice that it tasted great in the end.
The hot chocolate looks yummy and so nice of hubby to do when you were all tired out.
Every time you show rack-o that reminds me of my childhood, I haven't played it in quite some time.
Glad you liked your card :)

Now that is something I would NEVER attempt. We're into simplicity in our old age...jp
