The house is dark and it is one o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday.
The power is out and has been for some time.
I have a lantern for light and my computer is connected to my iPhone for Internet.
This storm is real, the winds and rain are incredible.
Across the street there are several large branches and trees down,
here in our yard, we just have some scattered leaves.
Early in the morning, we decided to take a ride to the beach,
I always enjoy seeing the ocean right before a storm when it's still safe.
Mount Street Beach my sisters favorite...
Huge raindrops began falling and we headed back to the car.
185,000 people are without electricity in mine and the neighboring county.
I have a feeling it is going to be a while,
we have a generator if we need it.
This storm was bigger and badder than I had expected!
update: 8:20 a.m Wednesday, still no power -
we are hooked up to our generator, running just a few things!

Hello,
I am sorry, I hope your power is back on now. We live far from the coast and only had some rain. Hubby would have loved to be at the beach watching the hurricane. I love the ocean and it is good to see the dune grasses. Take care, enjoy your day!
Debbie, I hope your power is restored soon . I saw some of the flooding and damages on the news. It was a fast moving storm. Praying for the coast and all effected by this storm. Blessings, stay strong, xoxo, Susie
2020 is turning out to be a bad year for everyone. Stay safe.
I'm very glad to hear you are safe and I hope the power is restored soon. Take care of yourself my friend. Sweet hugs, Diane
I hope everything is all past now. At least it was a fast moving storm. I am also very glad you have a generator.
I can't imagine having to live through these things and how strange to go and see the ocean knowing soon it will be raging. Hope you have power by now and are able to stay safe.
I saw on the news this morning that you all got hit pretty bad and I was hoping you were well and made it through ok, they showed many down wires. Hope it won't be too long before you can get your power back on. Take care!
Love to see the ocean... before, during, and after a storm. Something about it that makes you feel connected to the universe (strange I know). Hope you get your power back up soon. Glad you have a generator.
Fantastic photos of the beach. Hope everyone is safe. Take care!
i hope that by now you have power back on. Stay safe my friend,.
Debbie - the proverbial calm before the storm. Can you tell us about the grass that has been planted? (I am making an assumption it is some sort of restoration project?) Glad you are safe and no damage, and I hope that your power has been restored. We have often talked about getting a generator - a blessing that you have one!
Hugs
I hope that your power is restored soon. Hoping that you and yours remain safe.
Glad to see those grasses planted so widely!
We have been reading about this in the UK.
I hope that your power will soon be restored.
Stay safe, thinking of you.
All the best Jan
Be Safe and calm.
Beautiful photos of the stormy ocean! I hope your power is back by this time, but I also know those things can take a while depending on damage. Glad you have a generator!
Are y'all okay Debbie?
Wow, I am sad you have had to go without electricity for so long. We had an ice storm one year and didn't have electricity for a few days, so I do know what it is like. Your photos of the ocean before the storm or beautiful.
Sending lots of love and hugs your way!
gorgeous views. i love beach views. prefer visiting in the winter or fall time though. ( :
Oh goodness gracious - I had heard about that storm and honestly didn't connect it to you guys. I was glad to read that y'all finally got electricity back. Y'all are just having a tough time, and I'm sorry, Debbie.
xoxo
