Saturday Critters ~ 349 ~

I am so happy to see a lot of butterflies in my gardens.
Planting a Butterfly Bush, Verbena, Zinnia, Sage and Purple Cone Flowers
are just a few flowers that will draw butterflies in to your yard.
Herbs like Dill, Parsley, and Oregano are great host plants for butterflies to lay their eggs!

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

Monarchs

American Lady

BuckEye

Painted Lady

Cabbage White Sulphur Butterflies

And here are a few favorite images of my Black Swallowtail Butterflies!

Why not create a paradise for butterflies in your own garden.
This is a great website to get you started on raising your own butterflies.
You can purchase butterfly cages here, these are the cages I use.

Lovely photos. I don't mind looking at the pictures but butterflies and moths totally freak me out so creating my own butterfly paradise would be a nightmare for me. I'll leave it in your hands as you're doing a great job :0)

We do have a few coming to our yard with the flowers I have but I don't think quite the variety you have, even the hummingbirds seem to be more constant this year, so enjoying it!
Hope you have a great weekend!

They really are so interesting! I hiked this morning and saw some pretty butterflies and took a few pics of one of them. Still lots of webs with caterpillars in them too....not sure what they will all be. I hope it's something good! Enjoy your weekend. I'm going to 'chill'! Hugs!

This has been a good butterfly year. Not big numbers but more species than usual.
After I found an entire row of parsley eaten by caterpillars one year, nothing else touched, and discovered they were the dusky swallowtail caterpillars. After that I made a point of putting out a pot of parsley just for them.

I love butterflies and moths. Your pictures are lovely.

I don't know how you get such amazing pictures. I have found butterflies the hardest to take photos of. They seldom sit still. Thanks for sharing.

Hello. Beautiful butterflies. Great photos.

What beautiful pictures of the butterflies.
Most you can only see here in a butterfly garden, these species cannot be found in the wild.

Those are gorgeous butterflies! They certainly love your yard. We have a small butterfly bush that was a gift and several Monarchs have visited this summer.
