Saturday Critters ~ 348 ~

This...

Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly has been hanging around in the gardens lately.
I always know it is her because of her torn and tethered wing.
I can relate to her...
my wings feel a little torn and tethered too!

Here is another female, hanging out on the purple butterfly bush.
If you have ever wondered,
a butterfly bush works really well in attracting butterflies of all kinds.

Here is a picture of my Black Swallowtail Caterpillars, right after cleaning the cage.
I have 32 in total in this cage, 13 are in this picture.
The rest are crawling around on the sides and top of the cage.
They usually come down when they see or smell the fresh dill I have added!

When they eat the dill, they pull it up and toward them.

This is my new crop of dill...

it already has eggs on it.
One in the top picture, two in the bottom.
The eggs are very small, round and white.

Debbie, I do not know what is happening around here, but we have seen many butterflies and lots of bird activity. I am sending you a big hug, because of your feelings of being a little ragged lately. I always love to see your butterflies. That dill is looking very good. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie

Hello, Debbie

I like the darker colors of your butterfly bushes. Mine is a very light lavender. You are such a good mama to the caterpillars and butterflies. The eggs are tiny! Pretty butterfly and the caterpillars are cute. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care and enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

What pretty pretty pictures! I feel so sorry for the swallowtail...her poor wing!! --but there she is ...flying, feeding, TRYING. Wow, those caterpillars have such vivid and pretty COLORS! They sure do love that dill don't they?
