Yarn Along

I have loved this Outlander Cowl by Andee from the very first day I saw it.
It doesn't hurt that the model is gorgeous, or that the cowl is pictured in purple.
I had made two attempts at knitting this beauty -
when I started the third, I hoped it would be the charm, but it wasn't.

This is my fourth attempt at knitting this gorgeous cowl...and it's what is currently on my needles.

Here are my three prior attempts,
two of which I found while cleaning out my yarn basket a few weeks ago.
I wanted another go at it,
I was sure I had enough experience now to complete it with confidence.
My third attempt is the smallest of the three, I didn't get far.

I started the fourth and here you can see that I have made another mistake.
Not reading the pattern correctly, but by the time I noticed it,
I was so far along, I have decided to continue and view it as a unique detail in the pattern.
I don't think this will be noticeable and I am knitting it for myself.

I have in the past given up at all different stages,.
On my first attempt, I made it to the lace and got all messed up.
On the second one, I got about half way and I could see the pattern was way off.
At that time, I did not really know how to rip things out,
so I laid it in my knitting basket and forgot about it.

I am pressing on now because I just can't give up again.
This is a beautiful pattern and a gorgeous yarn.
Berroco Vintage, a blend of Acrylic, Wool and Nylon.

I am hopeful - fingers crossed!!

I am joining Ginny at Small Things for Yarn Along

Hi Debbie, its lovely. Let it be a unique pattern invented by you. If you didn't tell, I think no one will notice it. I like the colour of the yarn.

That is great you haven't given up on it yet, it does look like a great pattern and you won't even notice that little mistake once it is done, you will probably have a hard time finding it when you search for it. You did find some beautiful yarn for it, keep at it, you are doing great!!

I can't imagine YOU getting confused with a knitting project!
Me? Yes. I probably would have Frogged the whole thing the first time, rolled the yarn back up into a ball and kept it for another project. Good luck!

Well, if you hadn't pointed it out, I'd never have seen it as a mistake. It looks part of the pattern. I think you are right to go for it. Such beautiful yarn in a lovely colour.

I love the color and I know it will be beautiful. I am happy you are keeping it for yourself; please model it. One tiny little error is not a big deal at all. I have made many errands in some of my crocheted items and if they aren't too noticeable; I carry on. I read once that the Natvie American culture feel that an error in weaving their rugs is just the spirit weaving in and out. I just found that interesting!
I enjoyed reading your journey in making this lovely Cowl. Blessings and hugs~
