The Hawke

On our trip to see the Peeps display in Peddlers Village,
we drove through Lambertville and decided to stop here at,

for a late lunch early dinner.

It was mid day there was not much of a crowd.
We had a cute table in the back by the fireplace.

On one of the walls, they had a layout/display of the streets in the area.
Look closely you can see their names, I thought this was a very creative, clever idea.

My meal...
Shrimp, Spinach, Cherry Tomatoes, Capers and lots of garlic.
This was served over mashed potatoes, I would have served it over pasta.
Still, it was very good.

The hubs had a delicious hamburger with yummy onion rings.
There was an "H", for Hawke, burnt in to the top of the bun.

The restaurant had this cute bar.

There was a very nice park across the street from The Hawke,
we walked across the street, took a stroll through, and enjoyed the time outdoors.
No one else was there.
There was a jungle gym area for the kids and picnic tables if you wanted to pack a lunch.

The water was so still and I saw my first of the season turtle.
It was a beautiful day!

I'm with you, serve it over pasta... not mashed potatoes (but I guess both work)

Very nice day adventure! The restaurant looks nice and yummy food. I love little parks like that, Charleston has lots of them, most /all? With pretty fountains. We were in them all the time. 😊 . In the PARKS, not in the fountains!! Ha ha 😆 🤣

Debbie, i agree with your comment that the shrimp would have been better served on rice instead of mashed potatoes. However, it did look very good. Onion rings re a favorite here and we invariably order them IF they are prepared in-house and not frozen. The views looked like winter is still hanging on as it is here with no trees budding.

Oh it does sound like a beautiful day, the restaurant looks like a neat place and how neat to have a park right across the street to take a little walk, I see you have some buds forming on the trees, we are greening up quite well here too, the flowers on the trees are getting toward the end of their blooming which is sad.

HI Debbie :)
What a nice day out. The restaurant looks inviting and the food good. Convenient to have a park so near to take a walk after lunch. I also like the photos you took of the reflections in the water.
All the best
Sonjia.
