On April 18th we were lucky enough to visit Longwood Gardens.
But...as always,
I have a few more I would like to share and then we will move on to critters tomorrow.
We have been out and about some but the smell of smoke is everywhere.
The fires you may have been hearing about start about 18 miles from where I live.
We have not seen the flames or smoke, but are definitely aware of the fire.
At different times of the day, the air quality is worse than others.
At last check, the fire is 50% contained and has destroyed 13,250 acres of land.
I think constantly about the animals that lived in those wooded areas,
our brave firefighters and those people who have been displaced.
Have a wonderful day and be thankful for everything and especially clean, fresh air!

All the flowers are beautiful. I am sorry about the fires I hope they will be under control soon. There were also some fires here it is early in the year very unusual.
Oh my goodness on the fires. The flowers are stunning. The fires are scary.
When western Canada was ablaze the last few years, the smoke was carried to the east coast. It is incredible how air quality is affected by fires so far away. That fire is so much closer to you so I can only imagine what the air is like there.
Beautiful photos, as always, Debbie.
Longwood Gardens must be spectacular when the spring flowers are out! Hope the fires don't get any closer!
Tulips always announce spring in fhe most colorful ways and only wish they stayed in bloom longer. Thanks for the update on the smoke in your part of NJ.
If I ever get to your part of the world, I must visit there.
I think the flowers are so beautiful.
We have been hearing about your fires on our UK news, they are a terrible thing to happen. Unfortunately there have been some areas within the UK that have experienced wild fires too. I have great admiration for the firefighters that go towards the blaze whereas everyone else is coming away. Brave men and women, forever grateful to them.
All the best Jan
I have been thinking of you all since I heard about the fires, and praying they will be out soon. We don't realize all we can be thankful for until we have to endure something, good idea to stay inside while all that smoke is still in the air, we had that here too with the wild fires and it is hard to breathe, can't even imagine what all those brave firefighters go through.
More gorgeous pics of the gardens, I do love the style of that fence with the pretty flowers against it!
