Longwood Gardens In Spring - The Flowers

The long awaited completion of the expanded areas of Longwood Gardens is now complete.
The brand new West Conservatory, Cascade Garden, Bonsai Courtyard,
1906 Restaurant and Fountain Room are open.
The expansion has brought to life many new structures, gardens and walking paths.
There is so much more to see and do here now, as if it weren't enough before.

Outside, the displays and colors of the flowers would take your breath away.

- you will recognize all the tulips and daffodils -

- oriental poppy -

- crown imperial -

- cherry blossom on the left - chime tower on the right -

There was a huge variety of daffodils...

and tulips!

- oriental poppy -

- primrose -
I have never seen them variegated or in this color before.

- pinguicula caerulea -
I had to look it up, it was so delicate and beautiful.

And I really enjoyed the new Bonsai Courtyard...so much so, I forgot to take pictures.
The Cascade Garden was very pretty but temperature controlled and it was a tad too warm for me!
The Waterlily Display opens during the summer of 2025.
Several days ago, we tried to make a reservation at the 1906 for dinner but it was all booked up.

This was an amazing day, the weather was perfect and so was the company!

While the flowers are beautiful, I am in awe of your photographs. The way you captured the color and the detail of each flower and how the others were muted in the background. Great job!

Oh my gosh, Debbie, that place is beautiful, isn't it? I was intrigued by the purple primroses, never saw those before, so pretty. Do they have weddings there? Sure would be a gorgeous location. Love the picture of y'all, so cute! Love all the flower pictures.

as wonderful as it is seeing all the blooms at Longwood, the final photo of you both was just as sonderful. I especially liked the purple blooms and the tulips. It's been years since we visited these gardens and unless we visit friends in PA it may be a long time until we return so I appreciated that you shared your visit 🌷.
