Hiding In The Sticker Bushes...

Such an odd place to hide or take up residence, in these tangled sticker bushes.
But that's exactly what these male and female house sparrows have done.
They were quite content buzzing around, from one branch to the next,
keeping themselves inside this tangled mess of branches and just out of view.

House sparrows are a small bird with a plump body and round head.
They have a short tail and a short, thick bill.
Some consider then to be a pest because they drive out native birds,
or perhaps for their common color.
But I enjoy their very detailed, very beautiful feather patterns.

Thank you for posting this. We too have these in a boginvillia bush and they are really small and just flit in and out of the bush with all the thorns but didn't know what they were as have never seen them before.

We have mostly sparrows in our yard and there are so many different markings and sizes, I like watching them as well. They are smart to go in all that, harder for those that want to hurt them to get to them :)

They must feel safe in that thicket. It won't be long until you here cheerps from the little ones in the nest!

Dear Debbie!
Your photos are gorgeous. I also really like watching birds and I always feed them because they take care of our garden.
Greetings.

Happy Mama bird! 😊

From your comment on my post, "...we are our own person!!"

What does that mean?
I am sitting here probably overthinking it!

I too love those little guys! Cyndi (daughter) always has them in her birdhouses and I love to watch them dart in and out, always hitting the entrance just right. They have them in the hedges too.

Cute Sparrows, they are protected hiding in the bushes from the predators.
Have a great day and happy new week!

I have five sparrow nests on my house and they stay here all the time some sleep in the nest and some in a bush in front of the house.

Oh, Debbie!!! Your photos are so beautiful! It's better to me than seeing them live as I can SEE yours better! Thank you!

A good place to be, must feel safe in that thorny thicket. Great photos Debbie!

They must be able to fly right in and out without issue, but it must be a great safe place for them. Great pics.

I have always loved Sparrows. It is the one bird we do see a lot. I can't fathom how they go from limb to limb in this tangled mess. You got some fantastic photos.
Blessings and hugs!
