A Lock Of Love

Just kids with nowhere to go, the hubs and I went to the Point Pleasant Inlet on our first date.
We sat in the car and talked for what seemed like forever.
It is such a fond memory...and of course everyone remembers their first date!

The town of Point Pleasant Bleach recently placed this artsy fence at the inlet.
I have been keeping an eye on the "fence" to see if the town was going the cut the locks off,
they haven't.
Maybe they placed it here just for this reason?

So I finally decided to place our lock here...

where it all began.

Onward...I am cooking most nights,
I am still receiving the Home Chef meals,
we really enjoy the taste, variety of food and connivence of this program.

Steak with Walnut-Green Onion Sauce, Roasted Potatoes and Creamed Spinach

Roasted Tomato and Parmesan Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Zucchini

We each made are own pizza's - Sausage, Onions and Peppers

I made this One Sheet Pretzel-Crusted Chicken with Honey-Mustard Sauce
and Roasted Broccoli

Prepped, but I forgot to take a picture when I was done,
this meal was so easy and really delicious!

The sunrises have been amazing...

I'm not usually up early enough to see it but now I see what I am missing...
Note to self, stop sleeping in!

Yes, those who sleep in do tend to miss the glorious sunrises. I smiled at your padlock with your names left at the place of your first date. Would you believe on my first date with my now husband, we run over a little old lady who was walking in the middle of the road, in one of those 'can't-see-one-foot-ahead-of-you' rainstorms.....in a little red MG. Yes truly, such a fascinating story but I will say that all was good. The little old lady lived to see another day. You might miss some of those sunrises, but at least you get to enjoy the theatre of your sunsets.

Oh what beautiful views! I sleep in too but around here we are having foggy mornings so it's easy to do. Love your delicious meals. Food really should be healthy AND tasty! It's a big part of our days!

Debbie, sunrises and sunsets are both beautiful. I use to see them both when on retreat at Montserrat years ago. It's a Catholic silent retreat on the lake. Loved them. Haven't been to one in years. Thanks for sharing your pics. Brought back memories.

So romantic that you left your love-lock Debbie 💜💜 There's a lot of variety in those meals, it would be fun doing that... the pizza looks good too. How fantastic are those sunrises... wow!

Hi Debbie,
this place is really PERFECT for your lock!
And your food looks delicious. You made me hungry but it's almost 11 p.m. ;-) [You see, I'm more of the sun-set type ;-))]
Thanks for your nice words on my blog - you are very right, hiking / being in nature will help us all with mental wellness during this pandemic.
Stay safe! Best wishes from Austria,
Traude

That is neat to leave the lock where you had your first date, like the pic with you two holding it.
I have never heard of pretzels on chicken that might be interesting.
yep certain times of the year I see the sunrise more than others :) nothing better than sunrise or sunset over water :)

I loved reading of your first date. I think it is the best that you placed your lock on the artsy fence. This is such a unique idea.
I love how you take such delicious photos of the food. It does look like such a great program. At least I'm having hunger pains.
Your sunrises are magnificent and I'm borrowing them for future use.
Today, is my hubby and I's 58 year anniversary of our first date. We went to the movie; "The Longest Day", and that started it all.
Sending hugs to you two today!

What a sweet idea to put the lock on the gate! It looks like a popular idea! Your meals look so delicious - the way to a man's heart, for sure....haha! Wish I lived close enough to stop by, I'm afraid you might have to set another place at the table sometimes xx The sunsets are stunning. I'm like you, I mostly miss them :) Sending hugs xo K

Whether the fence piece was placed there for that purpose or not, I think it's a cool idea! Hopefully, they'll let the locks stay. Those are gorgeous sunrise photos! I believe you hit on a winner with Home Chef! The meals always look wonderful.

Such a romantic spot for a first date ... I’d want to leave a lock there too. Those skies are beautiful night and pink morning! And of course dinner always looks good at your house.
