My ride to Lake of the Lilies on Thursday,
turned into a trip to the Manasquan Inlet as well.
The Inlet is close to Lake of the Lilies
and the hubs is so kind to take me to all the places I want to go.
I saw this unfamiliar, easy to photograph bird...
it was "interesting", it did not fly off, so I went with it.
It's a Female Boat Tailed Grackle
I was happy I photographed it as the pictures were nice and clear
and it was a "new to me" bird!
Don't think she didn't notice me...
"how many pictures are you going to take of me"?
While photographing her, out of the corner of my eye, I spied a
Herring Gull
catching and eating crab for lunch.
These 2 pictures are a little out of focus...the gull was a tad excited, I was excited for him!

If you go looking for it, you will always find something to photograph. The weather has made me stay indoors.
Very nice pictures ... in special ones with the seagull!
Have a nice weekend!
Beautiful grackle! We have lots of Common Grackles, but I've never seen a Boat-tailed. Great catch for both you and the gull! I assume they have to eat the crabs piece by piece.
Nice shots! I don't think I have seen this bird before either. Have a nice weekend!
Hello, Debbie!
Awesome photos of both the Boat-tailed Grackle and the Herring Gull. That poor little crab is a goner. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend. PS, thank you for today's visit and comment.
Preciosas fotos. Que bien has cogido ese pájaro y las gaviotas.
Buen fin de semana Debbie.
Un abrazo.
Oh how cool is that to have found a new bird, I have never seen one of those, pretty shades of browns on it, great pics of it and I just love that last one, looking straight on like that! I love the pic of the crab eating gull too, wow you just had a great day of capturing some very cool shots, bet you were all kinds of excited, good thing you made this stop!!
Your pics are so clear and wonderful!
Beautiful photos! My favorite is the gull having lunch!
The Grackle has absolutely pretty colours!
Debbie!
Your photos are always fantastic, perfect. I watch them with great pleasure. You took great pictures of the birds.
Have a nice weekend.
Hugs and greetings from distant Poland:)

You do take wonderful pics! Love the expression on that bird's face in that last shot. And as for sea gulls, I love any pics of them... especially flying and landing... but eating is good too.
It always confuses me when I see a female without the common color of the bird! lol Love your photos! I wonder how many he got of YOU! heehee! I showed some pics of some of our fav ducks today! Hugs!

Love that grackle. The shots where she’s looking at you are priceless!
Beautiful shots. The Grackle is subtly colored but so pretty.
Hello Debbie. The photos of the Boat Tailed Grackle are fantastic. Herring Gull is a beautiful looking bird. It is a white bird, but its feathers are always clean.
Great shots! We have a different kind of grackle so this brown version looks exotic to me.
All great shots Debbie. At least that gull is not going hungry that day.
Herring Gull, I know...I know. They are delicious!
Yummy crab for lunch...gotta admit I’d be excited too. (We used to go out for Dungeness crab in Oregon and catch our own.. it was great to have as much crab as we could possibly eat!). The boat taled grackle s are pretty! I actually like them a lot!
What fabulous captures here Debbie, I enjoyed each and every one of them :)
All the best Jan
