Why We Love Watch Hill, Rhode Island

The skies are so blue,
the beaches are spectacular and the umbrellas are always so colorful.
It is a family friendly beach community.
Everyone you meet is a local and they all have the best tans.
Everyone walks around barefoot or is riding a bike.
They all have the best tips on where to eat.

And they have the cutest little shops - Coco & Lala for the adult girls...

And Coco & Lala for the little ones.

Are they not the cutest shops you have ever seen?

The Sweet Shop

Watch Hill is home to The Flying Horse Carousel.
A historic carousel, built around 1876, where the riders catch rings as it spins.
The carousel has a very interesting history,
if you are interested, you can read about it here.

Not your typical carousel, as the horses are suspended in air,
and appear to be flying as the carousel spins.

Funny when I look at that beach all I see is a ton of people haha. I think this place would be called a tourist trap, has all the elements to draw you in.

I agree with Changes. Too many people. My daughter's would love all the little shops.
Would this be called The Shore or because it's in Rhode Island, it is called The Beach? LOL
I asked my daughter Pam, newly moved to NJ, if she had been to the beach. She said, "Oh, you means the shore?"
I replied, "Whatever, have you been to the Ocean?"
She said, "No." She's lived there 4 months. I would have been down to the Ocean within the first week???

Oh my, what a unique place to visit. I love that shop. The clothes and other items were adorable. I know that my granddaughters would love to visit there. The beach looks like a fun one. It's been a long time since I have been to a beach.
I love Carousels. I do have a Carousel horse in my home. It's a fun display. It's big but not as big as the real thing
I imagine that it is fun to be one that looks like it is flying through the air. Thanks for sharing all the fun photos and I will check this link out too.
Sending loving thoughts and hugs!

Would you believe I lived in Rhode Island for abou ten years and have never been to Watch Hill? Considering how small the state is, that should probably be a crime. Oh well - the shops look like a lot of fun! I’d probably enjoy the beach in the evenings.

Nothing beats the beach when the sun is shining - everyone is happy and everything looks so perky. That is a wonderfully unique carousel - I love riding them, even as an adult! Especially when the whole family joins in!
