Autumn in Longwood Gardens

Last week, late in the day the hubs and I took a ride out to
We don't usually go this time of year, we made the trip to see
a special night time event that transforms the gardens with light and sound.
It was dusk when we arrived, so there was not a lot of natural light in the gardens,
therefore we did not get a lot of great pictures!
Today, I will share the pictures we took in the gardens,
tomorrow I may share pictures of the Nightscape display, they did not come out very well.

The most memorable flowers in the gardens right now are the Dahlias.

The Italian Water Garden

The Mum Displays are just starting to open up.

The Miniature Train Display

And there were pumpkins...

with no shortage of people who wanted to pose with them.

We had a great afternoon and evening and The Nightscape display was amazing,
I'm so happy we took the time to go and didn't miss it.

oh and a little p.s....the place was packed!
But when I want a picture,
the tripod comes out, everyone gets a dirty look and the place clears right out.
That's a little inside joke but if you know me, you might think it's true!

the two of you are so freakin' adorable! What a beautiful place to visit - I'll be interested in seeing the night shots. I absolutely love the close up of the purple flower (about 7 or 8 photos down) - and the frogs are really cute in a strange sort of way. Happy Sunday! (sorry about the comment deletion - stupid error)

PS I've tried a couple of times to get the Nightscape link to work, but I can't ... it may be my computer!?

I don't believe for one minute that you look blue murder at everyone to capture 'that photo'. =) Gorgeous place. How cute is that little frog and the french water display is amazing. There is nothing meek and shy about Dahilias....they are stunning. It looks such a lovely place to visit and drink in all that is to be seen.

Oh wow, amazing pictures, I love the fountains, guess I am just a water girl :) Beautiful up close pics of the flowers. That is my hubby's favorite time to take pictures is in the evening, he likes the small amount of light hitting the objects :) Does give you a different feel to the place that's for sure, glad you were able to go and didn't miss it!
