Ringing in the New Year!!!

The hubs and I have never really celebrated New Year's Eve.
True story.
I'm not sure why, it's just never been a holiday we thought of as a holiday.
Even in our teens,
(yes, we knew each other in our teens)
we stayed home, tried to stay awake until midnight,
and I don't think we ever made it.
Last year we heard of a town having fireworks at 5 p.m.,
now that's something I am interested in.
We went out for an early dinner and then headed to
Seaside, NJ for some fireworks.
I love fireworks.

I got a couple of decent shots to share,
nothing fancy, handheld...
I tried to watch and enjoy, instead of focusing on pictures.

We stood and waited out front of Lucky Leo's
a real landmark in Seaside and at the Jersey Shore.

Casino Pier...it was 5:34 as we left, 46 degrees,
not a typical New Year's Eve at the
Jersey Shore!

5:00 firworks sound like my kind of fireworks! {we actually made it up this year...not sure how!}

Sounds perfect to me. I find it difficult to toe stay awake until midnight. This year I did because I was driving from a friend's house to our house in an unexpected snowstorm. Terror kept me awake! The good news is we had not consumed any alcohol. AND we have new snow tires. I would much more have enjoyed your 5:30pm fireworks!

That right there is our idea of a perfect New Years Eve ... Early fireworks! But the way you usually spend it before this year is perfect too .. And that's the way we've done it most years as long as we've been together (also since our teens ... And that was a l o n g time ago)!

We celebrate exactly like that too! Never really anything too wild, and fireworks is just my kind of thing to see too! Pretty captures.

Yay for a "warm" New Year's eve, and early fireworks. We've never celebrated the "holiday" either--not our idea of fun. You got great shots!

I love these, Debbie. Such great night shots.
I am right there with you on New Year's Eve.
Just not much of a holiday to me, and I surely too tired from all the Christmas celebrations to stay up until midnight!!

I wish you and Chuck a bright and beautiful New Year. xo.

That is my kind of celebrating, it is just too hard for me to stay up until midnight anymore :)
You got some great shots, glad you mainly sat back and just enjoyed :)

What you don't stay up till midnight...It just wouldn't be New Years here without staying up till midnight. Our tradition for years has been to eat junk food, watch movies & lately set off a few fireworks of our own at midnight and have a toast for the New Year. - By the way your fireworks shots are quite nice.

I actually like your idea of celebrating. We had family here so we didn't do a lot but we did stay up for the big event. The kids had fun banging pans at midnight. I am for the early show and usually bed before the New Year. Yup~ I am getting old, I think. Hope your New Year is going well dear friend. Hugs~
