The Legends of Asbury Park

If you grew up in the 60's and 70's in New Jersey
Asbury Park was legendary.
Even surrounding areas, up and down the east coast knew about and visited
Home to "The Boss" Asbury Park is a super cool town,
with an even cooler vibe.

There is something about this place,
different from all other beach communities...
this area is all about youth, music, fun and of course, the beaches.
Historic Asbury Park has Convention Hall and The Paramount Theater.

We visited recently to see the Christmas tree before they
take it down.

The tree was huge and especially beautiful.

All of the shops around Convention Hall were open  for
Christmas shopping,
portable shopping cubicles had been set up as well.
Unique items for sale and a wonderful way to shop local.

You can't visit Asbury without stopping at the Wonder Bar...

or the Stone Pony...even if just for a picture.

I could hear someone rocking out inside but we did not go in.

The Stone Pony...where legends like Bruce Springsteen were born.

Looks like another fun day out, I think we drove through there when we lived in Jersey but we didn't know about those places, how neat that they are still around and still giving people the ability to get a start in music :)

Cool. I don't think I've ever seen a pic of the Stone Pony - even though I've heard about it. I love when vendors set up stalls like that - most fun way to shop!
