- Road Trip -
Traveling to Upstate New York, less than 3 hours from home...
our destination was the Mohonk Mountain House.
Nestled among the mountains there, in Ulster County, in the town of New Paltz, New York.
Set in a Victorian Castle, 150 years old, right on Lake Mohonk.
This place is really beautiful and we had an amazing time!
The resort is enormous!
We had a really nice row around the lake...I felt like a princess!
They also had a lovely koi' pond with big, and "unusual to me" fish!
I have a lot more pictures from the trip I will share soon!

This place is completely new to me, I had no idea such a dream like place existed. It looks European and I think if I visited I would want to move there! Wow.
Hi Debbie! What a lovely place to visit. It looks so incredible. I love how huge those fish are. Have a lovely day.
Always nice to take a break.
Beautiful, Debbie. Such a lovely place; so glad y'all had a great time!
xoxo
Breathtaking!
Looks amazing. The scenery is so perfect.
What phun
What a place!
wow, that place is gorgeous! I am loving these pictures. Did y'all go there before?--because it all looks familiar to me....I either saw it here on your site or else somewhere else on the web I guess. Anyway, it sure is pretty. I love the pictures you got of the water and those big fish and the water flowers! (water lilies, water lotus?) and yep, no wonder you felt like a princess---look at you there all smiling and happy in the boat being rowed around on a huge glass lake and in your pretty white blouse....yep, I can almost see a crown on your head!! LOL You SHOULD have one anyway, LOL Cant wait to see more pictures!
Now that's a happy face I see. Such a gorgeous place to while away a few days. How lovely your prince rowed his princess around.
yes debbi, we have been here before. a few years ago, in september!!
What a amazing place, can't wait to see more and yes you are a princess.
Wow... what a great place. Love that row around the lake, and those beautiful koi. No wonder you and hubs have the happiest smiles! Thanks for the pics
How gorgeous! Certainly worth the drive. And nice to have your own personal rower! I must ask...does Chuck have a special closet with nothing but white t-shirts? :-)
It looks so huge, bet it was fun exploring it all. We have those fish at our botanical garden here. The pond flowers are gorgeous too. Glad you had a great trip!
It really is a beautiful place! I am going to come back later and catch up on all your posts I missed. But You know what? Our grandson and his wife worked at this resort three summers! They used to work at ski resorts in Utah in the Winter and travel all over the world in the summer, then one year they decided to work all year to save up for a really big trip and got places at Mohonk. They enjoyed it so much that they reversed the pattern the next year or two. I knew the name sounded familiar, then I recognized this picture from their tales! (This is the older brother of the grandson in my latest post. Now these two are settled homeowners here in Eugene, working regular hours like everybody else. We are glad they got to experience traveling the world before they got as old as we are!)
You should feel like a Princess with that dear husband of your rowing away. Wow, the photos are amazing and I love your smiles.
This looks like such a beautiful trip. I'm so happy you could take it. I can just imagine that this would be a very romantic and peaceful place to stay.
Big hugs for this one!
