ICE - Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer

If you follow my blog,
you know that during each Christmas Season we take a few days and visit
Gaylord National Resort, just outside of Washington, D.C.
to see ICE!
- ICE is an indoor Winter Wonderland -
A walk through holiday attraction, featuring two million pounds of ice sculptures,
hand sculpted by 35 artisans from Harbin, China.
Kept at a chilly 9 degrees,
you can read more about the making of ICE, here.
This years colorful ice sculptures depict the story of
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
Four ice slides and a stunning crystal clear ice sculpture scene of the Nativity.

We took a lot of pictures, I'll show you half today and the rest tomorrow.

It's all ice - it's unbelievable and it's oh so beautiful - more tomorrow!

That is amazing. We have actually been to the Gaylord twice for pharmacy conventions. I can't imagine ice sculptures inside, and 9 degrees. Brrr. It was a new resort the first time we went there and the shuttle bus driver that picked a group of us up from the airport got lost. It wasn't on anyone's GPS yet. The man kept getting calls from his supervisor asking why he was taking so long, but he wouldn't admit he was lost. We drove around for hours and at one point we saw it, but couldn't get to it. What an adventure. The second time we went, it was amazing the growth around it. We go in July when it is nice and hot. No ICE around.

Matching jackets? We have to talk. :)

I only say this because a neighbour got on our case for wearing matching jackets, even though they were just slightly similar and not matching at all. Sue and I often joke about it. The whole thing amuses me ... because I am easily amused.
