Getting Distracted...

On Wednesday,
I decided to break out the camera and spend some time by the window photographing my yard birds.
The birds notice me but junior is the one always vying for my attention.
I put peanuts out - for both the birds and for Junior.
Neither share well.

I have a love/hate relationship with him, I always say that, but I find it difficult to hate him.
He seems so happy, bouncing around the yard...
jumping from tree branch to tree branch, no cares in the world.
So often I wish I had his carefree life, his always happy spirit.

In these images, it looks like Autumn has arrived in these parts,
don't let these pictures fool you.
My maple tree is still green, with only small hints of yellow.
The leaves are falling while they are still green and turning brown on the ground.
It's cold here and it feels like Winter...I feel like we missed Fall.

What is that jar? Is it for maple syrup?

Hello Debbie, cute shots of your squirrel friend. The trees here have already lost their leaves, except for a few. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

Squirrels are entertaining! No mistake about that! Louis Dean prefers them in someone’s yard other than ours!
We drove home from the country yesterday and it is beginning to really look like fall here. Or what passes for fall in North Texas! No pecans this year from our trees but the deck is covered in leaves.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend and pray you are not inside taking pictures because you are not feeling well. You never complain.....

He is cute. But ours are not cute. They are sneaky and cunning and relentless. Said as someone who only liked to feed birds.

I know! *Grumpy* me. >,-)

Interesting about the leaves. Ours turned some. Not as beautiful display as usual, but they turned before they fell. What a difference not-all-that-many miles, makes.

You have a special friend in Junior! :)

Leaves here are falling, and just now beginning to turn colors.

What you see in your yard always astounds me. If I were the type that was prone to jealousy ...

Love the next to last picture with his front paws tucked into his chest and of course his fluffy tail.

He is bigger than the red squirrels we have here. Cute for sure!

I can't help loving squirrels.
We have one/some that visit our nearest trees and I almost talk to them! Silly I know!!!

Your photographs are simply amazing and I especially like the second one.

Enjoy the remainder of Friday and good wishes for the weekend.

All the best Jan

How sad your trees didn't don their gloriously hued dresses. 'Your' squirrel is a sweet fellow. Beautiful photos, as always, Debbie.

They are so cute and fun to watch but they can get into mischief too, love that pot on the tree for him to rest upon :) Isn't this weather just so weird lately, things just don't seem to go like it did when we were kids that's for sure. Makes you wonder how things will be in another 20 years. Hopefully you will get a touch of Indian summer in there somewhere :)

Oh my I have missed seeing photos of Junior. He is one of my favorites. You do catch his personality and he seems like a character for sure. You can just see that mischief in him.
I must say weather has been interesting here. We had a longer fall but then it took forever for the trees to turn and they did seem to have as brilliant of colors. Your tree is really green for this time of year.
Loved these photos because Junior is so photogenic. Blessings and hugs!

Junior is precious looking. - Oh I hope Autumn didn't skip you. We have had a lovely one here. Into the "rainy" season right now though, but it's better then snow.
