It's that time of year again for forcing Paperwhites for indoor growing.
I look forward to planting these every year and have had great success in the past.
I always place them in rocks,
the growing medium needs only to support the bulbs, not to provide nutrition!
Add just enough water so that the wide, bottom third of the bulb is in the water.
After one day in their new home,
and finally basking in the bright New Jersey sunshine, they are already starting to sprout.
I had a little trouble finding bulbs this year so I ordered them on Amazon.
They came 2 days later, shipping was free,
and all 10 bulbs were healthy.
I love Amazon,
I have not idea why I look for anything in stores,
Don't you love it?
I took this picture today and you can see that the sprouts have doubled in size.
And the one "leftover" to the right has some very nice roots.

They promise to be so beautiful, Debbie! Good for you! I didn't realise how easy it seems to be to grow these!
Dear Debbie!
Narcissus Ziva is a very beautiful variety.
I use to have in white. She was so romantic.
I'd love to see you like a blossom.
Greetings from Poland.

Hello, your paperwhites are looking good. I like the pretty pot too. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day and weekend!
absolutely (love it)
My Mother did this every year--usually planted in February.
I used to. I wonder why I don't now. Hm-mm.
I also bought in Amazon Debbie. The daffodils will come out precious. You will teach us.
Good Thursday.
Besos.
I love these fragrant blooms during the winter months and yours will look lovely in the planter you selected. You are right...Amazon is the best!!! Enjoy your blooms!
Such a perfect time of year for a little bit of spring!

I have been thinking about doing this. You have inspired me! Thank you!
A super lovely way for an indoor flower garden. They were certainly eager to get going once they hit your place Debbie :D) Love how they look already, those cute little shoots are full of promise. Quite amazing how many roots they push out, looking at your left over one.
The pot is just gorgeous too - glad you remembered to photograph it as well. Cheers now :D) xx
wow it is amazing how fast they are growing, it will be so great to enjoy such pretty flowers in the middle of winter
Looks like it won't take too long to have pretty flowers on these.
Oh a hint of spring! You made it look so easy Debbie! I may have to try this!
Very pretty. You do the best things to bring in spring. Pretty soon they will be smelling wonderful.
Soon you will have blooms
how smart you are !

They look cute and lovely...
Mine are coming along! I'm doing amaryllis, too.
I do like your pot ...
Happy growing!
All the best Jan
I do love it and I'm getting excited too!
You do make it look so easy; that I might try this sometime. It probably won't be until after our mission; but I would love to do this one. You are the best at growing things and I have always loved your tutorials. Thanks for sharing this one! Hugs~
