This Red-Winged Blackbird played with me for about an hour.
He did not know how much perseverance I have.
How much I wanted this shot.
I didn't crop it because I wanted you to see exactly what I saw.
This picture is more about what I felt,
as I held my Nikon again,
and walked around this beautiful field.
That this bird stayed with me, fluttering around but never flying off.
Maybe you had to be there...but maybe you can feel it too!!

Sometimes a 'natural' shot is more beautiful than a cropped one. I think that's the case here. You captured a lovely moment in the grasses.

This has such a special feel to it ~ and then to hear you describe your time in the field makes it even better! First of all, it's hard to imaging how that wheat stem is holding the weight of the bird...it seems to me it should bend under its weight. And the striking color of the bird and his wing against the soft, pale blurring wheat is just perfect! ONE of my FAVES!!!

They are lovely birds, and sometimes they do seem to toy with us. I had one that kept landing between me and the sun, like he was playing with me, I would reposition and...he would move too.
