Casa Oaxaca

This little restaurant is about a mile from home.
It used to be my favorite place to enjoy both breakfast and lunch.
It was for sale for a long time, it stayed open until they sold it.
I secretly hoped it would not sell, but it did.
The new owners made it a bagel shop, then it transformed to bagels and mexican food.
A weird combo I thought.

- the decor is amazing...I think the food was as well -

As soon as we sat down they brought us warm chips and these dips.
I don't know what they are...I just ate the chips and they were delicious!

The hubs had Chicken Fajitas,

I had steak fajitas.
The platters were sizzling, and it looked better than it tasted.
It was good, but the meat was a little tough and the onions and peppers were still crunchy.
They serve very authentic mexican...I think we like american/mexican better, if you know what I mean.

Their bagels and breakfast sandwiches are very good.

I'll bet it's fun just to be in that beautifully cheerfully decorated restaurant. I like Mexican food.

"Our" Mexican restraunt has same table and chairs. Their food is as good as it looks - but, by the time you eat all the chips and homemade salsa - you're full....ahaha.

What a festive and colorful place! More than anything I wanted to know how to pronounce that word. This is my interpretation of what google told me. wahawka Does that make sense?

Hello,
We go to a Mexican restaurant here that have the same chairs.
Very colorful. The foods looks yummy, shame it was not as good with the taste. Take care, enjoy your day!

We prefer Tex-Mex also. The authentic is a little too bland for some reason.

What a colorful place to dine, but bagels and Mexican food together in a restaurant does seem unusual. I do like a good bagel shop and we have two of them in Nashua, NH, but we prefer one over the other.

Looks like a happy place! Love all the bright colors and decor, especially the flags and chairs. I'm thinking that maybe a bagel with chili might be good! Lol! It looks nice and clean with lots of light. I would go there. x K

Bagels and Mexican is an odd combination. The decor is amazing and I love those chairs. The food does look good. Im thinking authentic Mexican would probably be a little too spicy for me.

Bagels and Mexican food does sound like an unusual combination, but why not? Thank you for posting all of the pictures of the restaurant. It is beautiful! I love the bright colors, and those painted chairs are wonderful. It reminds me very much of a restaurant my husband and I used to go to many years ago that had carved and painted chairs like these, and the tables were done as well. It has since closed, unfortunately. They had a sale, and I would love to have gotten one of those chairs, but at that point, my husband had passed away, and it just made me sad to think about it.

The artwork on the chairs, etc. is really neat! And the food looks good... probably because I love sauteed/roasted peppers. Maybe the chicken instead of the beef next time?

that is a funny combo, with bagels and mexican but I guess that way they can serve breakfast also. Very colorful and bright. Our favorite mexican restaurant is very dark inside, unless you eat on the patio. It looks like you get a good amount that is for sure.
