Dying The Eggs...

Dying eggs is symbolic of Easter.
When my boys were little, we dyed eggs every year at Easter time.
One important step in dying Easter Eggs is to hard boil them first.
I mention that step because I left it out, oh no...oh no...oh no, oh no, oh no!!
Not on purpose of course, just because, well I did not remember.

We were about half way into the dying process when I thought of it...
OMGoodness...
I forgot to hard boil the eggs first.

Anyway, new trend...

Raw eggs dye really well, just in case you didn't know!

We had a blast! but don't forget to boil the eggs!!

We have never dyed eggs, raw or boiled. Strange but true.

Hello Debbie :=)
I'm back blogging after being away for three weeks, not a holiday, just the opposite in fact. We do this tradition in Portugal as well, but I haven't done it in years. Your raw eggs made me L O L but they do look colourful and so attractive. Do you hide them for children to find, or is it just the chocolate ones. Your photos are great as usual and you made it easy to follow.
All the best

It hasn't been that long... but we haven't dyed eggs in a few years now. It was always a ritual with the kids and grandkids in years past. I can't believe you ever forgot to hard boil the eggs first... that is funny!

It’s been a few years since we dyed eggs, but I agree with you that it’s really fun. I guess it would be much more dangerous to have raw Easter eggs if you gave them to little kids!
Have a lovely holiday!

Those are so pretty, Debbie! gosh, been a long long time since we colored eggs around here! Sure did that every Easter season when the kids were little though. Hope your week is going great! I got our daughter that exact egg holder you have, she likes hers too.

Chuck looks mighty happy!
Louis Dean and I are going to make Easter bread tomorrow and for that you actually DO NOT boil the eggs first as they bake with the bread. We form 'nests' and wrap the dough around the eggs. One year the eggs didn't get quite done! I used to make Easter bread every Good Friday for years and years!
Wishing you both a blessed Easter season.

Vibrant colors! Very nice. I love your ceramic tray the eggs are sitting in. Who is the maker? I've been following you for years. This is the first time I've left a comment. lol Best wishes for a wonderful Easter!
