The Algonquin Theater

A Christmas Story

The beautiful Christmas Tree at
 The Algonquin Theater...

The Algonquin Theater
The theater has an interesting history, that you can read about here.
This beautiful theater, located in Manasquan, NJ, is only about 10 minutes from home.
The productions are professional, the costumes and sets are beautiful.

The popcorn was really good...

A Christmas Story
- The show was excellent -
A Christmas story that I was not familiar with.
The very funny account of Ralphie's desperate quest to
ensure that his most wanted of gifts ends up under his Christmas Tree.

No pictures were allowed but I took one of the curtain at the beginning and two at the end.
The cast was wonderful.

It was a great date night
with dinner afterward at Spano's in Point Pleasant.

Oh, you aren't familiar with this story, on film? I'm not thrilled with the movie, but it is a favorite of a lot of people, I guess. And that lamp in the window is an Icon. ,-)

The best part to me, was when his mother got fed up with the theater, for stringing the women along, with just gravy boats!!!!! I hope they included that, in the show!

Sounds like a really fun date!!!!

I watched that movie for the first time a couple of years ago -- when our son-in-law told me that when he and our daughter were first married he couldn't believe that watching it hadn't been part of our family's Holiday routine -- they'd already been married for ages by the time he told me that, so our grandkids grew up with it. I won't watch it every year, but I'm glad we saw it once -- and I'd love to see a play of it.

PS: I had fun catching up here -- missed a lot while we were away from computers.

Hi Debbie, the show looks amazing! so glad y'all go to go. I love popcorn too, just ate a bunch tonight. I have to be SO CAREFUL with it these days, because of my teeth. I love kettle corn. And I just tried a bag of "Boom Chicka Pop" and it was really good. Have you tried it?

This does look like the perfect date night. I love Christmas plays and I am sure this one was fun. A Christmas Story is one of my children's favorite movies ever. Yup! The best of dates.
Hugs for you two!
