The Cherry Blossoms are blooming in Washington, D.C.,
- if you go, the view will take your breath away -
- if you go, the view will take your breath away -
Yesterday we dedicated the day to viewing the blossoms...
us and about 10 billion other people.
The tidal basin was packed,
but it was so nice to see so many people out enjoying the blooms
and everyone kindly taking pictures for one another.
The blooms were nothing short of stunning.
They must be strong willed trees as they survived
all of the late freezing temperatures beautifully and were determined to be gorgeous.
And gorgeous they were...

Two beautiful days with the most amazing man alive.
And if anyone tells you the blossoms were a no show this year,
they haven't been there.

So, SO beautiful. I'm glad you and Chuck were able to go and share with us. Your photos are always so amazing. I've never been to Washington DC and doubt I'll ever be able to; it's wonderful to read of yours and others who share their trips!
Debbie, I know I'm pretty illiterate, but what is that building in the 4th and 6th photo?
xoxoxo
Love the shots of the swans through the trees!
So beautiful.
The helicopters, though...sigh, way to ruin a photo, guys in helicopters. ;-)
awww, don't ever put yourself down - i get them all confused. that one is the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. the Lincoln Memorial looks similar. the tall thin one is the Washington Monument. i have more pictures of the monuments and memorials that i'll share another day!!!
there were 3, flying low and close together. i thought the president might be in the middle one!!!
We used to live in the area. Such a beautiful site and you have really done it justice!
I loved your visit to Washington. What a beautiful place!

Hello Debbie!:) This is, a trip worth making! All your photos are just gorgeous. The closeups of the blooms are so very lovely, as are the views over the water, and you two, look "blooming" happy!:)) Americo and I have been to Washington, D. C. twice over the years, but never in Spring, and I now realize what a beautiful spectacle we missed. Thanks for sharing. So pleased I never have any trouble posting a comment on your post.:)
Beautiful! I'd like to go see it someday- and I love that you coordinated your scarf with the blossoms! :-)
Hello, the blossoms are pretty. Lovely scenes and photos, Debbie. Looks like you had a great weekend! Happy Monday, enjoy your day and the new week ahead!

That first picture is breathtaking! Thanks for taking us along.
Purdy purdy. You snatched a terrific portrait (great background) there for your final shot!!
THESE ARE FANTASTIC!!!!! It is so hard to fathom - but giving me hope - that this much spring has arrived anywhere! I love all the shots - but the peek-a-boo shot with the swan boat in the center background is my favorite! So glad you got to go - and that I get to live vicariously through you!!
what take the cake? who came up with that saying? any who ... the best-est picture is your and the husband. so so cute!! LOVE IT! i have always wanted to go to this ... but i have heard the traffic is tough and wild times. i am happy you guys went. funny thing is they were saying that might not arrive ... the blossoms and then suddenly they were not in the news again ... i wish our news would tell me things i wished to hear instead of all the negativity. this is such great happy news ... love it!! thanks for sharing. it was like i was there with you all. so fun!! happy week, Debbie!!!
