Another Day at the Beach

Yesterday, Chuck and I took mom to the beach.
The ocean has always brought a sense of comfort and perspective to our family.
We strolled the beaches in Spring Lake, New Jersey.
One of our favorite sea shore towns,
this is a beach mom has never visited!!

It was an absolutely gorgeous day.
The sun was shining bright, the temperature, 68 degrees.
68 degrees, in January!!

I think this is a Herring Gull
I have never seen one with dark, almost black wings.

A little wing/flight/water action!!

In some spots the ocean was quiet...

the waves rolled in gently.

This was a hot spot for the sea gulls,
for relaxing and sun bathing.

We threw in a pizza, of course,
what's an outing at the Jersey Shore without a "pie"!!

If you're from Jersey, you never call pizza, pizza,
it's always a pie!!

I hope everyone has a Funday, Sunday"!!

What beautiful pictures! The water is so blue with the white foam, it's spectacular! Wish I could go there! It must have done your Mom alot of good to get out and see the ocean.

This is the "next best thing" to being at the beach--great photos. We had the 68 degree weather here in Kansas, but the beach and the ocean are just not going to make an appearance! Thanks for a lovely post. Mickie :)

Hi Debbie, I love your beach and gulls photos. Great captures. I have not heard of Spring Lake. HUbby and I visited the Jersey shores this weekend also. We went from Avalon up to Barnegat and back to the Edwin Forsythe refuge in Absecom, NJ? Not sure if I spelled that right. I always enjoy a visit to the beaches.

Glad mom got a do-over! These are great shots! We went to the beach yesterday too - cape cod! Not exactly 68 degrees, but beautiful none the less! My daughter has pics up on fb...should be able to find them on my page. I love the 'deserted' beach shot...so peaceful and powerful at the same time!
