Splash...Splash, Part III

As you know...
when it's really hot outside, I see some "unusual" suspects using the bird bath.
On this occasion,
it was the first time I had ever seen a Blue Jay "in" the bird bath!
They came for drinks, but never to bathe...

This was the biggest surprise of all...

So here are the images, the same as yesterday, just not as many,
in the order in which they were taken!

It was a quick bath, still fun to watch.
Drip dry and a quick fly off, I think this Blue Jay knew I was watching!

I think birdbath photos are some of my favourite photos of our feathered friends. These are great.

I have just loved seeing THEM ALL the past few days.......but I think the gorgeous blue jay is my favorite!! they all seem to really enjoy it so much! I FINALLY saw birds in my birdbath I got for an anniversary present.....just a couple of days ago---gee, they take a LONG TIME to use something, ha ha LOL! It was cardinals here, young ones too, so cute. Y'all have a great weekend, ya hear??---be safe and hopefully some adventures that you can stay cool at!! That's what we're going to try to do! Hugs!PS....WE DID FIND US a freezer!!! At a mom/pop place like you recommended, thanks!! It took WEEKS, but finally. Well worth the wait.

Awesome! I recently saw a Blue Jay in the bird bath, but wasn't able to get photos. We've had many different birds drinking, but it was the first time I had seen a jay bathing.

Love the pic of him diving in for it :) I can't believe how many we have seen out by the feeder here lately, the only thing I was thinking is they didn't have our normal bird seed and so we bought another bag which had bigger pieces of corn.
