The Capital Wheel

The Capital Wheel is not for everyone,
if you have a great fear of heights, this ride is not for you.
But we love it and we ride every December when we visit the National Harbor in Maryland.
Open year round,
42 climate controlled gondolas, 180 feet above the Potomac River,
the views are incredible.

Our tickets...
You can imagine my surprise when I looked at the tickets and saw the word "SENIOR"!
Who said we were seniors?
WoW, I am not sure the discount is worth seeing that word...
have we gone to the other side...and when exactly did that happen?

The wheel is beautiful from afar.
It changes color frequently, all Christmas colors right now.

Each night they light the Christmas Tree located at the harbor as well.
Every hour, there is a nice little event and the tree changes colors to music.

As we walked back to the hotel, the streets were covered in blue lights.
The only thing that could have made this better was snow!

I am exhausted as I make the short walk back to the hotel,
but in the best way possible!

I love the tree and all the lights. Even the Wheel looks beautiful, but there is no way that I would get on it. Somebody has to stay on the ground and get pictures.😊

I don't think I'd feel good at that height, but those trees are amazing.

Amazing photos; this looks like an fantastic Christmas adventure for sure. I enjoyed everyone of the photos. I can't imagine going on the Wheel. I'm afraid of something that tall. I admire how adventurous and fun you two are. You do enjoy the moments.
Hugs for you two!

How cool is that, now I am afraid of heights but I think it would be neat to see all over, they just put one up in St, Louis but I haven't got the guts up to go inside it yet, they are all climate controlled too. That tree is gorgeous, and how cool are those lights over the street, so very festive!!
