I read about this restaurant on-line,
the reviews said that the restaurant had the best fried chicken in the state.
I said "let's go"!
Housed in a former bank in down town Asbury Park,
it's a really cool and super relaxed space,
with an art deco decor and lot's of beautiful natural light.

It was very crowded for brunch,
I snapped this picture just prior to these 2 tables being seated.

This pretty piece hangs from the open, natural ceiling!

In the back is the old vault from the bank and a private seating area inside the vault.

Free Beignets with Sunday Brunch...they were warm and delicious.

We each had the Fried Chicken and it did not disappoint.
It was juicy and packed with flavor, drizzled with honey table side.
It was served with bacon and a biscuit as we went for brunch.

We ordered a side of Macaroni and Cheese and it was delicious.

The restaurant does have a full bar,
we do not drink but it seemed everyone else enjoyed their beverages.

This is the area, back by the old vault.

We experienced great food and awesome, attentive service.
I am looking forward to our return visit!

What an awesome idea for an old bank! The fried chicken looks fantastic! I haven't had any in a very long time.

i knew you would say that - but my heart is and remains strong and healthy. and i must also add that everyone in the restaurant was eating the fried chicken. i don't eat fried chicken often, in my opinion, i eat a pretty healthy, well balanced diet. i have given up so much in my life, living with a chronic illness, i am not going to give up "food treats" like this!! it was wonderful!!

“Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, “Wow what a ride!”

How clever to make the bank a restaurant and love the seating in the vault. Love your spontaneity and glad it didn't disappoint.

Yummy! I don't have fried chicken very often, but when I do, it is so so good! This place looks so nice inside, I wouldn't expect the fried chicken and mac and cheese. I guess you can never tell.

That looks like a fun place to visit and glad that their chicken ended up being as good as advertised, that doesn't always happen. I don't know that I heard of those Beignets, but they sure look tasty too. I just love what they did with that Vault area and the high ceilings they have.

And that is obviously your perfect right! That kind of food though is unquestionably what leads the United States to have the most obese population in the entire world. The fried chicken is one thing, but it is accompanied by bacon and macaroni and cheese! Not a hint of a vegetable. Not a leaf of lettuce. Not a slice of tomato. A fiend of mine in California lost a whole lot of weight about ten years ago and has kept it off with diet and exercise. She used to say that her biggest problem was that she would have dessert and tell herself she didn't have it often, then the next day she would have creamy mashed potatoes and tell herself that she didn't have them often, then it would be a chocolate bar, because she didn't have them often, and then an ice cream.......and so on, and pretty soon she realized that she was using this rationale all the time! When she had a checkup and was proclaimed obese that set her off on her path to redemption! She claims never to have enjoyed life more, she eats well, walks often, plays tennis. Stuff she never did before. I agree absolutely with the quote above, but I want to delay skidding in sideways for as long as I can, and fried chicken, bacon and macaroni and cheese is not going to help me to do that!
