Saturday Critters ~ 192 ~

awwwww, The Hummingbirds.
They are killing my concentration this summer.
To say that I am distracted by them would be a huge understatement.

A few fun facts...
Hummingbirds can fly forward, backward and stop mid-air.
An Average hummingbird consumes at least half it's weight in nectar each day.
The hummingbird is the world's smallest bird.
Hummingbirds can reach speeds up to 60 miles an hour.
A hummingbird's wings beat 78 times per second during regular flight.
They eat about every 10 minutes!

They are delightful but very feisty with each other.

We sat in a restaurant last year and watched a hummingbird at a feeder outside the window, inches away. It was incredible to see the creature up close. I understand your fascination! How fortunate you are to see them all the time. Fabulous photos, Debbie.

Hello, love the hummers photos and I enjoyed the info too. They are amazing little birds. I am distracted by my hummers too, I am filling the feeders a more lately. I think the male will be the first to head south. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend.

love these pictures!! SO CLOSE AND SO FUN TO LOOK AT! Our hummingbirds have not come back......I miss them so much. I put out fresh feeders the other day when mr. front porch spotted one nosing about---but none have returned. I sure wish they would......they are so fun to watch!
