So That Was Christmas...

I was up early Christmas morning - before the sun - the house was dark, still and quiet.
I poured a cup of tea and drank it as I wandered around the house.
Santa had come
and I wanted to enjoy a few minutes by myself,
looking at my beautiful home and all that I have been blessed with.

I turned all the Christmas lights on and I updated the Christmas countdown snowman,
"0" days until Christmas!

As the sun came up, it's pretty light shined inside the house, making everything more beautiful.

I picked up my camera to capture the magic, so I would never forget it.

I received so many beautiful Christmas cards this year...

Back in the kitchen,
I sighed a sigh of relief to see there were still some home baked Christmas cookies left.

I never picked up the camera again - but I have a lot of beautiful memories!!

Oh - so pretty! I love the way you photographed the stillness of Christmas morning. As much as I like to photograph things, I rarely do during family gatherings - I really enjoy just being part of the gathering. Memories are wonderful, too!

It is really nice to get up on Christmas morning and the house is quiet. Just gives oneself time to embrace the day before the celebrations and conversations begin in earnest.

Your home is beautiful all decked out for Christmas! I love trees on the tray. I love all shapes and sizes of trees. You mentioned not picking up your camera after these pictures. I think sometimes we miss the joy of the moment when we have a camera in our face. I took a few of my grandsons opening presents and that was it. Sometimes memories are enough! Wishing you a Happy Mew Year!

It's a beautiful home -- I NEVER (or almost never) get family pictures ... I'm always too busy having fun and I don't take good people shots anyway. But as you correctly say, the memories are there.
