The Mute Swan Family!!

I came across this mute swan family resting on the shoreline
while we were in Cape May.

Momma was guarded but also seemed happy to let me peek at her babies.

I was able to get pretty close without upsetting mom and dad.
The babies were sleeping, it looked like there were three!!

Hi Debbie, it's great to meet you. I found you on a girl friend's blog and had to come take a look. Your blog is delightful and these photo are amazing. Maybe you should look into getting a job for National Geo . . . you truly have a great eye for the camera. While I was here I also took your garden tour. I love what you did with the center garden in your front yard. That is a charming way to create a privacy screen without interrupting the natural flow of your landscaping. I love it! I was very surprised when you showed your backyard. Your home looks like a cottage from the front and then it is huge in the back. Very nice. I am your newest follower and I would like to invite you to visit my blog sometime.
Have a lovely day.
Your new blogging sister,
Connie :)

Beautiful! There were swans in the stream where my mother lived. They weren't afraid of humans at all. They looked so pretty floating along, but so ungainly when they waddled on dry ground!

Hi Debbie! How excited you must have been to see this beautiful family. The babies are so sweet and fluffy and totally adorable. I love too how graceful the swans long necks are, especially when they're preening. Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving your lovely comment - I really appreciated it. Hugs now xxx
