Meeting A Golden Eagle

While we were in Hershey, we stayed at the Hotel Hershey.

On Sunday, they had a meet and greet with a Falcon Golden Eagle!!
Thanks Eileen for correcting the identification.

Her name was Bliss
and she was such a magnificent presence.

What a wonderful experience it was to meet her.

She was very calm and extremely tame,

 her talons were impressive,

as was her wing span.

She was content, almost seemed to be enjoying herself,
and had a wonderful rapport with her
handler - trainer, Jack Hubley.

If you are interested,
you can read more about the Falconry Program here.

Wow! That's a gorgeous creature, for sure. And those talons... I am crazy about birds, the large and the small. She is beautiful.

Just a beautiful bird. If I were a rabbit and saw those talons coming at me, I'd know it was all over but the crying!!!

Gorgeous big birds Debbie, we have Golden and Bald Eagles that have really recovered over the years here in the Pacific northwest, you see them nesting all over the place.

Hugs Diane

What a big beautiful golden eagle. I have never seen a real one up close. You don't look scared a bit standing so close to it. I'm going to read up on the link about these birds. Thanks for sharing & you have a wonderful week.

What a very stately, proud bird. Hershey? Pennsylvania? Oh my! We plan to go there.

i felt no fear karen, i just enjoyed every second. there was a little tackling of the kiddos to secure my place in line, and a little hogging of time, but otherwise, i was a good sharer!!!!
