Alpaca Revisited!!!!

Alpaca are some of the sweetest farm animals I have ever met. We first found them back in April, you can read about our first visit here. A few days ago we went back to check and see how they were doing. This is our third visit with these beautiful animals, the second since they got their "haircut".

Everyone was present.....

cuter then ever!!!!!

and sweet as pie!!!!

John and Audrey, the wonderful owners of the farm were there and this night happen to be "mate night" for Iris and she was not soooo thrilled about that!!!!

It wasn't easy to catch her.......

John with Iris, she was uncooperative!!!

and everyone wondering "where's Iris going"????

A male Alpaca was brought to the farm so he could "mate" with Iris.
We left for that part, we will return in a few weeks to see if Iris is "expecting"!!!!

These are such interesting animals. We have an alpaca farm on the way to our orchard country, but it's on one of those narrow roads with no shoulders...so no pictures. :-)

Lovely pictures of these adorable Alpaca's. I have seen them occasionally in fields around Virginia, but haven't been lucky enough to get this close.

They are so cute. I especially like the chocolate colored one in #6. It looks like it's smiling for you.

Simply adorable :)

Are they wooly like sheep, or softer? I have felt alpaca yarn and it was very soft...also very expensive.

As for my experiece in the kayak...my pants were wet...water from paddling, or something else? I'll never tell... ;)

I just love the crop of hair (fur?) on top of their heads. So cute! :)

I've never seen real alpaca. It is a kind of camel, isn't it? They are so cute.Especially after getting haircut. But it looks cold.
Thank you for sharing cute photos.
Happy days ahead.

flora....i have never seen them spit. i fed them the first time i went and they were very "clean" eaters!!!

tammy....their fur is very soft. they are raised primarily for their fun. it's used for socks, hats & scarfs, blankets, a varity of products!!

i think they are cuter prior to the shearing, they look like poodles. but really both "looks" are sweet. they are probably happy for the haircut in summer, i would think they would be very hot with their full coats!!!

Is it just me, or do they look like they could be related to the ostrich? Their cuteness is in their expressions ~ they posed for you!

Gorgeous. I read your earlier post about how you met them, so nice! There's a section for alpacas at our local annual agricultural show so we go to have a look most years. They are the cutest things.

They are so sweet looking! But I do feel strange about that "grab and take" a girl that did not want to visit with the boy.

No dinner out, flowers, flirt or anything... that's not fair!
