Swan Lake

The Mute Swans were really showing off the last time I visited
Lake of the Lilies
They are a large and unmistakeable waterbird.
They are elegant and beautiful, and they sure do turn it on when they see a camera.

When doing research in my bird book,
I was surprised to see the small area of the United States they occupy.
If you look closely, you can see that the New Jersey coastline and slightly north is purple.
Purple indicates that they are here and we see them year round.
According to my book, as you can see, not many people in the United States have that privilege!

This is the book I use and love, it includes all of the large birds and ducks
and has beautiful pictures!

That is the bluest water I have ever seen. They are huge birds but make their movements look graceful.

Why, I can almost hear Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake playing as I gaze upon your beautiful swans, Debbie. You are indeed blessed to be able to enjoy these elegant birds.

I think those birds see you coming and then they perform, just for you.

You are very lucky to have your show birds. And we're lucky you share them.

I would love to see that book of yours. :) That's a lot of swans in the pictures...but not a lot of places where we could find them. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen that many swans in one place! When I have seen them it's usually one or two pairs. Beautiful photos!

Wow that must have been the place to hang because it sure was full! I love the pics that have them showing off that wonderful wing span, love the texture in their feathers too, so cool!

These photos of the Mute Swans are fantastic. I loved the one with the group of them. I continue to think you should publish a book of your photograph; they really are spectacular.
Sending loving thoughts and hugs!
