Saturday Critters ~ 303 ~

As if riding our bikes around Spring Lake was not exciting enough,
we happened upon a beautiful
fishing on the edge of the lake.
This long legged, wadding bird is generally pretty skittish...
but on this day,
this bird must have been scoring a lot of fish
and could have cared less that we stopped the bikes to capture a few pictures.
Not giving up his spot, he actually walked toward me without flying off.

It caught a fish, you will have to take my word for it...
there is no picture...
* sigh *
But I am pretty happy with the pictures I did get!

It walked right past me as if I wasn't there.
It was so odd...

I am sure that in a park with walkers, joggers, cyclists etc it gets pretty used to humans and pays them little attention.

Very cool, he must have been focused on what he was getting there. The ones down in Florida were like that, didn't seem to care at all that we were there.

Great photos. It must be accustomed to people who were respectful of it?

I love all Egrets! We see them around both our places... and even in between. I never tire of them, especially the stately Great Egret.

I think you must blend in with the nature you photograph. These are lovely photos of a rather unique bird. I loved them.
Big hugs for you!
