Autumn Has Arrived

I think she's late this year,
but we are finally seeing signs that she has arrived.

The first 3 pictures are of the shade trees in my back yard,
next to my pool.
The main tree forms an umbrella over the patio,
and provides wonderful shade and a beautiful breeze.
A few days ago, these trees were completely green.

Standing under the tree, looking straight up.

This tree is at one of the other properties we own.

I would like to take a "tree ride".
Drive around and photograph all of the pretty trees in our area.
I have seen some really stunning ones.

The front porch, I always keep things pretty simple.
I painted the pilgrims probably 30 years ago,
the boys were very young at the time.
The mum is holding up well,
it's been in the pumpkin bucket since early October.

We don't rake the leaves at our house...
the hubs refers to them as "natures decorations"
and "enjoys" seeing them on the lawn.
I don't know about you, but I'm not "falling" for that...

Not only are they nature’s perfect decoration they are nature’s perfect way of keeping moisture in the ground, and protecting the soil. It also provides habitat for a multitude of micro organisms, food for winter birds etc.

You mean leaves don’t have to be raked? Do we all just blindly do it because that’s the way it’s always been done? Sheesh, I’m with Chuck, they make beautiful decorations!

You're surrounded by so much beauty, Debbie.

I had a friend who didn't rake leaves saying it keeps the grass greener. Of course that's here in FL. :)

Pretty Autumn colors, I love your decorations on your porch, pretty bucket for your mums and wow those pilgrims have held up great over the years.
We have had our first snowfall this evening, I am so not ready for it, our temps are 25 degrees below normal, not enjoying that much.

You have such beautiful autumnal colours, wherever you live in the Northern Hemisphere. We don't have that here in Australia in the Tropics. Lovely Post

Most of our trees are bare of leaves right now and we do need to do a clean up. Your tree photos area lovely and I like your front porch too. I tend to love my older decorations the most and I have had some for ears. Always lovely to see your landscape photos.
Loving thoughts and hugs for you!

Oh, I love "nature's decorations" lying everywhere as well. There is nothing quite like a glorious carpet of fall leaves. Gorgeous trees there and your porch is looking lovely. One could not help but smile when walking up your porch steps.

Beautiful colors in those leaves! A lot of our leaves ended up just so-so this year.
