Art At The Pier

I love Pier Village
It's a fairly new beach front community, with apartments, shopping, great restaurants
and so much more.
It's where we went for the kite festival...if you missed that post, you can read all about it here.
They host a lot of movies, concerts and special events year round.
While we were there on Sunday,
I noticed all these cool star fish hanging up in the shopping area.
The sign explains "The Challenge", they were all very unique and beautiful.

This one was quite interesting, this star fish was covered in debris collected from area beaches.

They were all the same size but unique in the way the were decorated.
I didn't love Superman but all the rest were beautiful.
These will all be auctioned off, later this Spring, raising money for selected charities.

It is always interesting what artists create. One object with many different designs, great diversity. Enjoyed this post very much Debbie. Have a great weekend :)

Hello, Debbie! the decorated star fish are awesome. I would have to say I love them all but the superman is the least favorite too. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

That was interesting..I don't think I have ever seen a painted starfish. You guys have the neatest experiences.

I agree with your review -- all beautiful except Superman. But the second one from the top would look best on my wall, if you want to put in a bid for me! (And you know, go ahead and pay for it and everything too LOL)

Love community events like this! Seen similar (merry go round hoeses, mermaids, etc.) in beach towns local and its fun to go look at all the entries! You always have something fun and interesting for us! Happy weekend

When I was reading this, my friend, I was sitting here pulling a face 'how can this be - what the heck?!' -- but then I saw your pictures! A definite WOW! moment! Truly only artists would even think of this!

These are great! Interesting to see each artist's style. I like the painted flowers. The one covered in debris says a lot about us.

I think they are great, so interesting to see how each artist uses colour.
You see some very interesting things in your 'neck of the woods'.

As always thanks for sharing

Those were so fun to see. I agree Superman was a bit odd but the others were wonderful. I think my favorite was the one with the roses on it.
