Good Fences ~ Edition 12 ~

New Jersey has some of the most beautiful beaches on the East Coast.
The beaches in Cape May are exceptional.

Here are some of the amazing fences that protect these special areas,
and help shelter the community in the event of a storm.

Most of the dunes and fences were of no help during Super Storm Sandy,
but they have been rebuilt in hopes of protecting this area,
should it ever happen again.

Natural dunes are much more effective then man made ones.

These wood fences help control both the snow and the sand,
from blowing and also helps to prevent beach erosion.

They can be seen year round on the New Jersey shore beaches.

I am super excited to be sharing these pretty beach fences with
for Good Fences.
Stop by and consider joining in the fun, any fence or gate will do!!
And many thanks to Thereas for hosting Good Fences,
and bringing us all togther.

All that lovely sand!!! I wonder why the natural dunes are more effective than man-made - something about the shape catching the wind better, perhaps?

So pretty - and such a memory for me! The dunes and old wooden fences were such a favorite part of my childhood summers on the jersey shore!

Another tug at my heartstrings as, yet again, I get to see "home" through your eyes. Thank you, dear.

These are so beautiful, Debbie.
I am probably biased, but east coast beach fences are the very, very best.

Gorgeous beaches for sure! The dunes remind me of the dunes in MI we used to visit along the Great Lakes.

I've always had a soft spot for beach fences but did not know they were actually useful. Pretty and functional. Gorgeous scenes...you are blessed.

What a beautiful place. For a moment I closed my eyes and felt sand between my toes!

Nice fences. They also appear to be very helpful during the snow months.

Beautiful beach scenes - I love this type of fence in the dunes - they are part of the landscape in such a charming way that without them, the beach might look as though it's missing something.

I love that last one.. you can tell that many, many steps have gone this way headed down to the water.

I know snow fences are very effective- so these sand fences most likely are too. What gorgeous beach views!

It's a gorgeous beach! We all should be in prayer that such things DO NOT happen again!
