we went for a drive...on a winter's day.
Well really, I had to go to the Alpaca Farm to pick up some yarn.
Not for me, for my "Winter Blues Swap Party" person.
Leanne picked it out for me, she was there giving lessons to three "very happy" ladies learning to knit.
I felt a little jealous, I really did, learning to knit was a life changing experience for me.
Not only that,
I met so many wonderful people...and made new, lifelong friends.
Now I wonder...what did I do before I started knitting?
An Emu out for a stroll.
This farm is across the street from the Alpaca Farm.
There are so many large bodies of water along the way...all were frozen.
These pictures were taken at the base of the river we live on,
at the marina, only a few minutes from home.
- Frozen in time -
- solid ice -
- it was 16 degrees while we were here -
- these common reeds were blowing gently in the breeze -
Ice on the river can lift the pilings right up and out of the ground.
You can see in this picture where the pilings,
and the dock walkway has been lifted by about four or five feet.
Canoes and kayaks resting here until summer.
Lastly, a bouy out of water!
